I can't be sure, but is that Ork head just a shrink down of Nagash? I ultimately will have to wait for better (preferably painted) pics of that Ork to make final judgement, but that looks to be one of the worst Ork models ever produced.

And the Necron Lord doesn't appear to be sculpted much better. It really looks like they let the sculptor of those metal Chaos 'possessed' out of the dungeon again.

Edit: I know who that Ork's face reminds me of. Sloth from the Goonies! "HEY YOU GUYS!"

There's a lot of pics. Copy http://warmodels.narod.ru/ctat/fotogd2007/pictXX.jpg into your browser replacing the XX with a number. I personally like 65, 66, 72 and 74.

(Hint) What core game other than 40K uses round bases?  Anyway, you can see the painted pics on page 19 of last month's White Dwarf (US #329).

wow ther are some nice looking fig on their way. Too bad commisars are not really worth feilding. Will probably pick them up either way. The second set of Vet marines are nice looking too. Glad to see there is more nice Ork figs to add to my green skins. Thanks

Commissars are nice, but I'm most interested in that accessory sprue. Wish someone had a better pic of that.

the unreleased necron lord with the staff of light held over his head looked much better.

The necron lord looks frighteningly bland...I mean running away frighteningly!

And we all know how cool a necron lord can be after playing Dark Crusade. Plastic kit anyone?

Two pretty weak releases, to be honest.  I'm not digging the custom shoota at all.  I'm partial to the plasma blasta looking mega-guns of old.  The Necron looks too much like a destroyer lord stuck on some warrior legs.

Up your nose with a rubber hose.

From what I can see (the angle's not very good), I like the Ork - crisp detail and plenty of character. I'll pass on the Necron though. He's almost a mirror image of my converted Lord, but something about the sculpt looks bland and kinda sloppy.

I would love to see the orks have some sort of mega/shooter bigshooter type upgrade sprue for the orks.. with lots of gribblies, dakka and bitz on it to make an ork want to punch out his own face to trade his own teef in for it.. yep, that's what we wants.. and new vehicle kits that make convertin' a walk in the park..

Those are really meh. Is it me or does the necron guy look like a copy-its details are so minimal.

-"Wait a minute.....who is that Frazz is talking to in the gallery? Hmmm something is going on here.....Oh.... it seems there is some dispute over video taping of some sort......Frazz is really upset now..........wait a minute......whats he go there.......is it? Can it be?....Frazz has just unleashed his hidden weiner dog from his mini bag, while quoting shakespeares "Let slip the dogs the war!!" GG

It's been a while since I looked, but are Necron legs upposed to fuse into the hipbone like that?  People often like to claim metal figures have better detail than plastics, but what's the point if the basic sculpt lacks any sort of detail?  It's almost like whoever sculpted that was either in a hurry, or was give the job as some sort of punishment.
