Tournament Overview Fee: $25 to get into the con, free for the tournament.
Prizes: Certificates will be awarded for Tournament Champion, Best Army, Best Sportsman, Worst General and Farthest Traveled.
Tournament will be held at MidSouthCon, at the Holiday Inn Select, 2240 Democrat (at Airways, I-240 Exit 23B) in Memphis, TN. The phone # is (901) 332-1130
Final Check-In from 8am to 8:30am, Saturday, March 25th.
Players will setup their armies, objective markers, army sheets and any supporting fluff material for review by other players between 8am and 9am. Each player will judge other players on army painting and army composition on a scale from 1 to 5 points in each category. The average of these scores will be included in the players final results score.
The tournament will be run using a Swiss format with three rounds of 2 and 1/2 hours each. The first round will begin promptly at 9am.
Army lists will be 2700 points. You are limited to published armies, Space Marines, Orks, Feral Orks, Eldar, IG, Baran Siegemastsers and the following play test army lists, which have been deemed tournament ready by the organizer, White Scars, Speed Freeks, Tau, Chaos Space Marines and Lost & the Damned. Please contact the organizer if you have any questions about your army. (Note: Army Builder or any reasonable format can be used to prepare a written army list ? please bring a spare for the tournament organizer and one to share with your opponent.)
The standard GT Scenario will be used in all games on 6 ft by 4 ft tables using a variety of terrain. (Note: Players are encouraged to bring some terrain with them to supplement that available from the organizers.)
Players Should Bring With Them ? Their Army ? 2700 points ? A legible written army list with two copies, one for registration and one to share with your opponents during play ? Three objective markers for use as objectives in the GT scenario ? Four or five terrain pieces to supplement the available terrain (if possible) ? Dice, rulebook, and army lists that cover their army.
? Drinks and munchies are available for free in the Con Suite. Premium beverages are available for an extra $5 at the Con Registration.
Tournament Scoring ? Games won, lost or drawn will earn each player points based on victory conditions as specified in the GT Scenario as follows:
1-149 points difference in a Draw = 10 pts & 10 pts 150-449 points difference in a Draw = 12 pts & 8 pts 449+ points difference in a Draw = Marginal Victory 14 pts & 6 pts 1 Goal difference = Tactical Victory 16 pts & 4 pts 2 Goal difference = Strategic Victory 18 pts & 2 pts 3 Goal difference = Major Victory 20 pts & 0 pts (Note to achieve a 1 goal diff you must win the game by achieving at least two goals as stated in the rulebook section 6.1.7 i.e. 2-1, 3-2 but not 1-0.)
? Sportsmanship will be evaluated by each player at the end of each game and a score from 2 to 10 points will be awarded. Each player?s average sportsmanship score will be added into their final tournament point score.
? Army Composition and Painting will be evaluated by each player and the Head Judge. A score of 1 to 5 points will be awarded in each category, with the average score added into the players final tournament point score.
