Cool stuff really.
New Chimera looks pretty good, especially the dozer blade and the rocket. Too bad the basilisk ended up only being just that. Oh well.

Oh yeah i checked these out this morning. And in conclusion: The Deff Dread just possibly became one of my favourite models from GW, also love the new venerable dreadnought.

I like the Kans and the three in a box idea, but the Deff Dread is a bit meh to me. The Chimera looks promising, pity about the Basilisk though. That Flash Git is the big winner though.

Venerable Dread yum bloody yum that will be my 5th Dreadnought you know well 6th perhaps as the plasma cannon is screaming STICK ME ON ANOTHER DREADNOUGHT....!!!
The Basilisk a bloody let down just a rehash of the old kit im not too hot about the Chimera as neither will serve my Imperial Guard anyway the Kans,Flash Git and the Deff Dread very good very nice kits and if I still had my Orks would be going straight in thoses armies.
The book definately as thats shelf space well used.

That family photo was awesome, the new Deff dred is indeed a lot bigger then the spacey dreds and the mega dred is huge, I might have to get one of those at some point...
RE: The kanz weapon loadout and them not having 3 of each type, I get the complaints but I don't agree with them at all, sprue space is limited and I'd rather see as many different weapons and bitz as possible then 3 big shootas, 3 rokkit launchas etc. That's what bitz sites are for, or trade with your ork playing mates, both deff dred and kanz include a number of spare weapons so I imangine they'll be lots of parts on the market come mid march.
My only complaints with the kits are that the deff dreds legs look too weedy and not nearly big or stompy enough and that there's no new grot riggers in either kit, I love those little guys and was hoping they'd try to inculde at least 1 in every ork vehicle but ho hum.

I like the look of the Kanz - both the models and the price, and will be getting some for my Ork army. I think the Venerable dread is a decent model, but I prefer converting my own Venerable dreads so will give that a miss. Really disappointed about the Basilisk - was hoping for an artillery variants kit - would have been great for scratchbuilding projects.

lets see
newly designed models for kans and dreads-check
plastic kits-check
kans coming in three!?!?-MAJOR CHECK
Dreads coming with 4 DCCW-check!
no parts for grotzookas/kustom blastas-not check
Im making a dreadbash list and this is the one thing that disappoints me. sure the dread kit has 2 kustom blastas but thats not enough for 9 kans and thats besides the fact they may not fit! Im somewhat disappointed with that because im not exactly a conversion master.
That aside though. Im thoroughly excited for the new release. (and also aside the chicken legs that become somewhat disappointing to look at after a while)
P.S. Anyone know what the scales are for the dreads and kans?

Deff dred actually has two KMB's so no worries there at all, they'll be good for dethkptas too.
Come to think of it, all those CCW's will be good for dethkptas also.

As someone pointed out in another forum here - the Basilisk kit does not come with a Hull Heavy Bolter, meaning you cannot build it as it appears on the box. The best you get is a Hull Heavy Flamer on the accessory sprue.
This 'new' Basilisk just gets more and more lame as the hours go by...

I'm a metal player, but the options in the ven. dread box?
Plasma cannon?
Las cannon?
Missile Launcher?
Assault Cannon?
Two typs of power fist?
Two typs of legs?
How many sarcophagus?
Almost make me want to convert everything into plastic.
Almost.

Hmmm, you have a point my friend, perhaps a multi part Warboss kit could contain the needed components for clan specific upgrades, although it's apt to be pricey (if it ever becomes a reality).
