Oh, man , that was so much text. I am dizzy...

The old Raider model is nice, im sad i dont have any of it... Maybe i buy some one day... The new Raider model is awesome.

About the plastic kits:

I think Scorourges need it. As some one pointed at the start of the thread, they got to many weapons, aditionally, those details are for plastic...

The Wrecks and Grotesques too. They are supposed to be twisted creations of mad minded genetic\alchemic cientists, and that should mean diversifity. Plastic bring the options you need for it. I would bet in a 10 man box of wracks and a 5 man box of grotesques. Boot with some options for haemonculi conversions.

If my post show some BAD spelling issues, please forgive-me, english is not my natural language, and i never received formal education on it...
My take on Demiurgs (enjoy the reading):

So, dose this also confirm that SoB (Codex: Eclisiarchy) are very much in the works? What with Jes Goodwin already working on the models, could we see two of the three Ordos coming out very soon?

Haha, a sniff of a new Eldar codex, abeit a very faint one. Let's hope all those comments on those vast 'Ideas for the next eldar codices' threads weren't wasted, eh?

How will GW deal with updating Harlequins for a new Eldar Codex now? Whilst their shuriken pistols might refer you to the BBB, their statlines and abilities are now enshrined within the Dark Eldar book for the next 12 years at least.

Do they need an update in the new Eldar Codex then? Not snarky, genuine curiosity btw lol.

What is wrong with them for use with a Craftworld list, even later on?

I think there are comparisons elsewhere on the forum, but essentially...

Comparing Eldar units to other (newer) codex races, they are a little bit overpriced. Not a lot, but a bit. For instance, for the same cost (as Harlies with Kisses, plus Shadowseer) you can get Incubi plus Klavex with either Demiklaves, Bloodstone or Onslaught, depending on what you want), which are much more useful.

I know, I know, everyone whines about pricing of their units. And I'll still use Harlequins because I love them. But at 22 points each they suffer from being a fragile unit over 200 points.

That's my opinion anyways, I don't proffer to be a master of Eldar though.

Ah ok I see, Craftworld still have pay the older price for the same unit, so they are penalized... So I suppose GW would never say just take the point value from the newest Codex eh lol

Well they're still priced the same, so it's more like: Whilst in the Craftworld codex they are good for value, in the Dark Eldar codex they are not. Thus, if the Craftworld codex is updated they will have to either leave the Harlequins the same to keep consistent (thus they will not increase with the slight power creep present in each new codex) or they will have to change them (more powerful, or less pricey) leading to some unhappy Dark Eldar players.

The rumor was that GW began working on SoB about 6 months after they began working on GK. They have had problems with the SoB mini's,although it has been said that they learned a lot from similar problems with the DE mini's that they can apply to SoB. I would expect SoB no later than Q1 2012,based obviously on nothing but internet rumors.

...why? Oh, because every other 5th edition book is "overpowered" right?

Except, you know...they're not. But this is Dakka so no point trying to argue otherwise.

I don't know why everyone is still gaking on harlies in the DE codex. They are exactly the same as in CWE, but there are reasons why they suck in CWE armies and not DE armies, being able to snag open-topped transports to assault out of being one of them (and those transports are also not as expensive as transports in CWE either). They also have access to melta weapons, which Incubi don't have, so saying there's never any reason to take them over incubi is just ignorant.

In fact that's probably exactly why incubi lost the ability to take special weapons.

So not too long a wait for Venoms... excellent. Hopefully we'll get some new Haemonculi as well! That's literally ALL I'm missing for 2K Dark Eldar. One Venom and a Haemonculus. I think I'll just hold off on both! Woot, I say.

I do not thinkthe harlies are overpriced for what they can do and yes I run them in my CWE army. I do however think the vehicles are way over priced in the CWE book so would like to see some tweaking there.

Has anyone heard for sure that there will be grotesque models? I would bet they leave that up to the kit bashers similar to the Nid models, but honestly once the DE came out I stopped keeping up with the rumor threads so I really do not know.

I do what the voices in my wifes head say...

My thoughts on the 4 plastic sets are:
Talos/ Cronos
Venom
Wracks
Grotesques

Though The scourge`s could do with plastics I personally think GW may just make a plastic upgrade sprue later down the line for them and true born and charge a way ott price for it.

Personally the main thing I want them to do is the haemonculus exactly like the archon with interchangeable arms from plastic kits. Which I hope will be the case

I really don't think wracks and grotesques are going to get their own separate kits. Scourges really need one, and GW has been moving to plastic for flying models like that anyway.

Plastic scourges make sense. Same with wracks, since they're possible troops type. Grotesques maybe not so much, because their points costs make them pretty expensive.

Does anyone think maybe the Talos might never end up plastic, given that there's a model for one already? Not saying the Chronos won't, but the Talos was never d/c as a model.

I read on warseer that the lead time for plastics is down to about 18 months. So this is a good date I think. Depends how advanced Jes is with them at the time of asking.

like i said in an earlyr (not the right spelling eh?) post i dont think it will get a plastic kit as theold model is still on sale while other old models are out of sale.... plus i spoke with a sales maneger yesterday and he said: I am not telling you what they will release but make no attempt too convert a cronos, venom, wracks and those flyer thingies but scourges you coud begin too make iff you want them now.

believe what you will read what you will but this is all i have right now....

plus i wont even use dark eldar models only the codex ghost baby ghosts

That's news to me.

I thought the Court of the Archon, Grotesques, Chronos, Venom, Fighter, Bomber, Razorwing Flock and Clawed Fiend never had a model and had to be converted. The Haemonculi, Scourges, Wracks, Khymerae and Talos have to be updated. The Trueborn and Bloodbrides had to be converted slightly and expensively from their Troops options.

Whilst I take sales manager talk with a grain of salt, I have to agree with fatty, that the Talos kit is still on sale, so we might see a Chronos kit rather than a combined kit. We'll see a venom kit. We'll have flyers, but it seems they'll come through a flyer wave rather than a DE one.

I believe that Sid was referring to the old Codex . . . but he would still be wrong =p As I'm 99% sure The Decapitator and Kruellagh never had models . . . Or atleast I've never seen them anywhere

And yes, seeing as Scourges are no longer for sale, I would have to agree that they are probably in the next wave of releases. Although I'm hoping for Wracks, Flyers, and Talos/Chronos . . . Maybe Grotesques in metal? Either that or if they go plastic, they will be 'over-priced' like Chaos Knights and Greatswords were when changed to plastic models (Couldn't think of any relelvant 40k references)

Kruellagh did have a mini. The Decapitator didn't. Also, years ago there were for sale blisters of warriors with special weapons (blasters and shredders), but they were discontinued. All the other units were available.

This is Kruellagh's mini:

Honestly, the drastic re-design of the Talos in the codex makes me really doubt that they are going to skip it over. If the Chronos is coming out, then I would be very surprised if they didn't take the oppurtunity to make it a double box a la Trygon/Mawloc.

That's pure speculation on my part though, but the art was sure nicer than the current model IMO!
