Thanks, I think.. My current motto for Necromunda is "There shall be scatter terrain, the more the better..."

Continuing on from my Bag of pickled onion Hobbits here's the rest of my fantasy objectives snaffled from the Giant kit.

A grave stone- could be the final resting place of some venerated captain or whatever that your force must defend against the taint of a necromancer or pillaging grave robbing goblins or something.

The skelly-signpost reads "Death's Door B'n'B", just thought it'd be funny if even the inn keepers of the old world were into this kind of thing. Brings in the punters, you know.
Anyway, maybe said Innkeep picked the wrong Skelly to give this posthumous appointment as head of marketing. Jaunty hat notwithstanding this is no way to treat the sacred remains of the venerable Abbess of Sigmar (or whoever your faction would go to war over)

Get Mayor Goodbody- is that "get" like "hunt down and dismember" or "rescue from certain death"? You decide, whatever makes sense for your game. This piece was the raggedly looking fella who's running from the giant (or stuck in his cage) but I gave him a big hat and a cloak and some bling to make him look more like an objective than a statistic.

Last up the chaos stone. Its big and dangerous and oozing with evil power- go break it or take or seal it or use. Whatever your power hungry hoard might care to make of it is up to you. Just slap it on the tabletop and its game on.

Pallet of Gas Canisters.(Inspired by theCrowe's Necromunda Gas crate)
Grants a single squad gas grenades of a randomly determined type chosen by a D6 roll,example 1/2 Choke,3/4 Hallucinogen,5/6 Smoke,follows necromunda rules for size,drift,time it lasts etc,can be sold after capture for credits.
(Complete with actively burning canister,to represent the center of the generated gas cloud)

The Only Scanner for Miles.(Featuring new industrial double diamond grating)
Upgrades a single unit with an auspex scanner free of cost,alternatively acting as the only mission objective,after running a gauntlet of critters,retrieving the scanner being required to reunite with the rest of your unit,after getting lost and running said critter gauntlet.

@timd.
Holy crap that's alot of barrels,crates,fuel tanks and barricades,well painted too! nice work,also on the loot markers.

@theCrowe.
Damn they some colorful markers nice and bright,them basing materials look familiar,liking the chaos stone and the bnb skull post,gives off a bit of a pirate vibe that bnb marker.

Working on more markers soon,a stupid amount to be honest,will be hitting overlooked unusual and again vastly different atmospheres,WHFB will get a whole month+ pallets of supplies will be beefed up with more fancy kit,Traps will become more hi-tech,alternative fantasy/video game themed markers are on the cards,as are weapon upgrades,farm/revenue pieces,treasures,and special/tactical pieces,+critters,slowly picking at my collection of idea's a couple at a time.

For any newcomers,i post new markers or set of markers every 10days keeping the thread alive with both new material and idea's,of which i have MANY.

Next Marker 15th November.

The double diamond plate really looks the part. Excellent staging. Really makes the objective more than just a piece glued to a base.
Staging a good idea is always tricky. But it makes all the difference, and honestly, with the right setup almost anything could be an objective.

Really nice work on that active gas cloud centre marker. Could totally use one or two of those in a game of Necromunda. What's the smoke made of?

I'll drop these in too. Couple of magic items. I've had the winged scroll for absolute ages. (Back when WFB fliers could "fly high") It used to represent a magic item that my Eagle Mounted Mage had, like a Dispell Scroll or something.

The other one I made just recently because I had the book. The bookshelf is a bit rough but it does the job. It could be an item that grants your magic user an extra spell or some power of some sort. Or it could just represent a rare and forbidden tome of eldrich lore that your despicable captain wants to get his grubby little mitts on.

Project Update: Finished producing green stuff bits,a large variety of new parts,several objective markers got built,with several more waiting on construction,
So in other words anyone wanting to join in with some objectives of there own has more time to do so,or you can just wait and watch,either way markers will be posted..

@theCrowe.
Well with the garlic&garden mesh,i now have a 3rd type of industrial looking basing material,although i have seen it used on many ork conversions and buildings,
The smoke is just cotton wool hit with some watery and old sunburst yellow,and some nuln oil wiped in,The Birdbook is a well funky fantasy piece,thinking the shelf&spell book definitely gives of the forbidden lore feeling,ahh dispell the classic choice for robbing one's foe of there magics,also cool cobblestone base!

From left to right: Wrecked Crusader III, ammo dump, and wrecked M4A1 Sherman. I have both a North African British and American armies so I use the ammo dump always and then switch out the wrecked tank depending on which army I'm playing.

Very Nice SPJ. Always nice to see things in another scale. What scale is FoW? It looks like 15mm or thereabouts. Smaller maybe?

Thanks mate.

And yes, FoW is 15mm (1/100) scale.

Ok, if I wasn't already 6mm-ing (that's a legit verb now) it up in the skies of WW2 I'd be tempted to upgrade. Luckily I don't get out much or I'd've ( another totally legit word) bumped into a few more FoW players and I'd be going broke in 15mm.

Anyway... Hey look a pair of 28mm hazardous terrain markers!

In the spirit of the new release of Necromunda.

Necromunda Pearl Eyed Spiders.

Monsters from the sump the lowest part of a hive city,rare and hard to kill in there native environment,but once killed fetch a handsome bounty,as the pearls are much valued in the high courts of hive tops,worth 1000credits each,Also being of the mutant critter family they are both strong and hard to kill,Toughness-5 Wounds-4,additionally they have lethal venom during melee they always wound on a 2+.

Nice metallic green hint on those spiders. The larger bases makes them a bit less comic too.

I've finally got pictures of my two fantasy army sets.

Wood elves - Forest magic/boundary stones.

And a bunch of fancied up Skull Pass Goblin Objectives. I put the Big Badmoon on an upturned tree stump because I didn't have the teepee that its meant to go with.

I figured I could use the Big Badmoon in some sort of 'capture the flag' game so I made a Wood Elves flag too from an old Standard.

Got another batch of Necromunda objectives on the brew thanks to some choice bits from the U man himself. And I've just finished putting together some GorkaMorka scrap counters so expect to see both of those sets in the next few months.

I was going for that,less comical more hazardous look with the green,and thanks again for the spiders they definately make nice warhammer critters,
Magic Stoneyness with some warped trees,wizardy,that's one cool big-badmoon also awee baby badmoons lol,more necromunda huh very cool and same here,lots of very interesting sets to come in the future of this thread,Including more than a few fantasy sets of my own.

How important is it to have a visible number on an objective marker? I know some game types allow you to remove objective X. I play Tyranids, I have lots of ideas for organic cool objective markers, the problem is, there really isn't a way to denote what number it is easily for play purposes. The only thing i have thought of is using eggs, 1 egg, 2 egg, etc... but then that limits the creativity a bit.
Do you find that having a visible number to denote the objective marker is needed

It's only really a factor if you play non fluffy games using up to date rules,you could just use small clusters of rocks,or bits scatter,pouches,powerpacks,knifes if non alien,the number of bits indicating the marker number,or if you want to keep it more hidden some numbers under the base,as for tyranids numbering,bubbles would be smaller than the eggs easier also,some veins running off them maybe to add effect,another option would be use poison glands from genestealers etc,they are very small a few of them could be used the same way.

Ooooo I like the toxin sacs idea. Though those are kinda small. I plan on using 40mm bases,

Maybe based on terrain feature, like
the genesetealre nodes have 2 &3 openings, make something with like 1, ,5,6 unique features.
SO like 1 would be a large Spike, maybe like a sprouting Capilary tower, 2 genestealer node, 3 genestealer node, 4 could be like 4 spikes, 5 spikes, 6 spiky things or eggs. i dont know, just thinking out loud.

I did just see the new Chapter approved Objective markers and that gave me some ideas.

I reckon your best bet is to make something creative that looks great and just add a number to the edge of the base. A lot of the time I'm painting that area bright colours that are outside of the in-world-theme anyway so a small number there wouldn't ruin anything. Best not to let the numbers ruin a great marker set idea.

Alternatively, what I've done before is just draw up a numbered list of the markers in play. Assuming they're not all the same.

A Trap,Some Imperial Supplies & Necron Goodys.

Spikepit Trap.
Simple environmental trap,sharp sticks dipped in something gross will become more than capable of wounding or killing,can be avoided however on a 2+ as it is not as well camouflaged as other such traps.

Food Supplies.
Grants a single unit a bonus to initiative skill,as a result of being well fed and free from exaustion.

(The above Supplies marker granted is not very themed by that i mean i literally could not find food bits "no kroot" so went with purely pouches,kinda boring as such below is a extra that's nicer)

Necron Emerald Pile.
Necron Technology is partly crystal based,harvesting of new crystals allows the overcharging of necron powercells using the new fresh crystals,when within "12 necron weapons are even more deadly +1 Strength to necron warriors gauss flayers,The piles are however fragile and easy to destroy,having Toughness-2 Wounds-1 "immune to laser based weapons which reflect rather than hit".

@Dynas.
Capillary Towers would make for nice little markers,don't forget to post your markers here when you make them,not enough alien themed markers in this thread.

Some seriously nice looking Gorkamorka scrap markers,I spy a bunch of them bits i sent you,glad you found uses for them.
As for the Racing Scarabs had to have a red one,was going to try a black&white checkerboard scarab group but figured it would look weird the others being actual colors so abandoned that idea,besides was not confident in my ability to manage the pattern.

Some spiffy (and inspiring) examples in this thread!

I have not done any recently, but here are a few I did quite some years ago:

Spoiler:

Nothing exciting, but they're functional. I don't have these anymore, unfortunately, as they have disappeared in some move or another over the last 7 or 8 years since I did them up. Curiously, I *distinctly* remember having done one as an !, one as an X, and another with a ? on it...

Neat little sign bit, though!
