I like them too, but really wish they'd have matched some of the Shael Han and Skorza stuff in size.

Hadross big guys just aren't big enough! I had the same complaint with the carchodons.

Poorly lit photos of my ever- growing collection of completely unrelated models!

The Nasier rank 2 troops are on the smaller side too. They are about the same height as normal humans but much wider. They don't look out of place on the 40mm bases but do look small compared to the Skorza.

If you have access to some cheap relic knights stuff, the noh make good shael Han stand ins.

Is the far left Skorza one of the Gotha knights? I don't recognize that model and they're one of the few I haven't been able to get ahold of yet.

Noh go very well with Shael Han. The two combined were the Vanguard of my Kings of War Ogre army.

Yes, he is one of the Gotha knights. It’s 3 unique troop sculpts and the leader sculpt x2. So 4 unique guys but then doubled in the box.

They are Confrontation bases. Miniature market used to sell Age of Ragnorak bases... but sadly no longer do...

Miniature Market has a WoK sale. 30% - 70% off.

They have the Gotha Knights and White Mane Duelists. I have 2 of each but tempted to get another set...

Whenever I see this thread pop up there's always a brief flash of hope that it's some kind of news on the status of the game.

Nope. It's dead. I have come to accept that. Still nice models are nice... Especially when cheap. But Io have given up any hope on a WoK reboot.

I'd appreciate even a single sentence update saying the game is definitively dead.

Still, the chance at buying the whole Nasier faction for $130 is awfully tempting.

Miniature Market also had a sale on the CMON Basing System last week. I am guessing they bought up CMON's webstore stock. Wonder if we'll see Dark Ages next?

Agreed!

And I still hold out hope that they'll cut the IP free and someone will pick it up and support it.

I did just bolster my Hadross, Teknes and Shael Han forces though!

I wish I'd have known about that basing system sale!

And, I don't think there's any Dark Age stock left...anyway, sadly.

Wow, I didn't put that together. But it does explain why MM has the Confrontation resins that CMON was selling.

I think they'd had those resins before at Miniature Market.

Those bases are nice. I bought so many a few years back when they had them for under two bucks a set on Black Friday. I don't use them often enough...

Debating if I want to add any more to my collection. How are those fire spear Nasier compared with the Ashmen? The price is tempting...

Picked up a bunch of stuff from the game I've always wanted, but never got. (the hate-forged titan, thanks to your review Tamburlaine) Such a cool concept for a game setting and miniatures, too bad it never took off. I'd always regretted not funding the initial KS, that was back when I told myself, "I don't need to back every KS that looks cool to me..."

same here. But more than news of CMON, as Alpharius said, news that someone has acquired the IP for a resurrection of the game. We’ll pray to Eru

in my experience with nasier, nothing tops ashmen, but I am biased for them (I have 99% of the entire wok collection, so a bit of a fanboy) They are a good unit though.

Some may find it interesting, but I spoke with a woman at the CMON booth at Adepticon and asked about the state of both Wrath of Kings and Dark Age.

Without getting into to much detail, she explained that it's I'm a weird place right now because they are doing well with the SOIAF stuff so that's getting all the attention at HQ, but DA and WoK are both beloved projects that they don't want to cut loose, so there are no plans to move the IP, but they also don't have any firm details on future releases.

So, yeah, it's dead, but CMON isn't ready to let it go...

One of them filthy casuals...

Huh!

Thanks for the update!

That's long been the prevailing theory - that the 'A Song of Ice and Fire' Game (and Kickstarter fulfillment) was hogging all the time/money/attention at CMON, and their other 'real' Wargames were suffering for it.

CMON makes most (almost all?) of their money via interest free loans preorders Kickstarter campaigns, so who knows what this eventually means for anything other than those types of things.

Based on that information, my conspiracy theory is that CMON will hold on to Wrath of Kings and Dark Age until the inevitable ASOIAF slowdown (either because the interest drops once the show's final season ends, or becuase they hit a natural limit on what units they can release a la X-Wing).

At which point they'll launch a combined Kickstarter to reboot/revamp WoK and DA with new rulebooks and new miniatures for each faction.

It's almost the same way that GW ignored Old World fantasy when they focused heavily on Lord of the Rings; or how Halo blasted a lot of Spartan Games attention for their other games as well (though there were other issues with SG that led to their downfall).
I think it just shows that many wargame companies are poorly designed to deal with major consumer market releases that sell vastly above what they are used too and command almost all their attention. Even GW found it hard to tackle, though they also had a very hard time dealing with the sudden nature of the drop in sales once the films were done.

I like ASOIAF. But would totally be down for a WoK kickstarter.

I, and just about everybody in my club, lived that life back in 2013

But even then, I'd be interested in a Dark Ages KS. Owning very few minis but being a longtime watcher makes me a prime candidate to break my 'no more mini-games' KS rule

a new user 'MiniatureMarket' just posted down in one of the other forums

https://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/773780.page#10436082

assuming they are indeed MM (and i'm sure they are) all CMONs remaining stock of both WoK and Dark Age are now with them, with the Dark Age stuff being readied for sale first

(I wonder if it includes any unreleased Dark Age stuff as I think there was some at least theoretically in production that never got to the stores)

CMON blew thru all of their stock when they were clearing it out at 50% off last year - same as WoK.

They had almost no Dark Age stuff left, but a fair amount of WoK stuff remaining.

Which now looks to be on Mini Market.

They either held a lot of Dark Age stuff back (?) or they did another production run to sell to Mini Market or...

...er...I don’t know.

Actually not a new user. Account has 10 posts total over the past 4 years and they're all related to either Miniature Market or Ironclad games. So I think we have our answer about what the future of these games are.

It will be great if the whole dark age line is available. I wonder what the discount will run.

I'll drop this here as I can't find the Dark Age thread I though was around in N&R

all the remaining stock of Dark Age stuff is now up on Miniature Market (according to their account posting down in Misc. Other Miniature Games)

https://www.miniaturemarket.com/table-top-miniatures/dark-age.html

not much of a saving, but if you needed something now is the time to get it

With Gencon coming, if they don’t have any releases or press about it then you can guarantee that it I should dead and buried.
