You can say it’s the study of snakes all you want, but if it’s tied to Nurgle then it’s definitely the other thing .

They are looking great so far.

Progress!

First up is my Autocannon Wardog the amazingly named "Suitably Impressive Name To Follow":

I am loving the main House Herpetrax colours of green, black and biege on these miniatures and the new Chaos Knights transfer sheets really help to set them off.

I also got my Knight Rampager done, had great fun working on him and I hope that shows with the finished miniature:

The only thing I magnestise on my Knights is the body and legs, this just makes them easier to store and transport. I just use a 10mm x2mm rare earth magnet and they do the job really well:

So expect more Chaos Knights soon, thanks for looking.

Cheers everyone, have gotten my other Wardog and three chaos knights built up so hope to get some paint on them soon. I have used some Taro modelmaker bits to make the Dominus class Knight a bit more imposing so pictures of them soon.

That said...I have been sidelined by the release of Warcry. So with that do you recommend rolling the models into this blog? I already have my separate ASOIAF blog so three seems a bit excessive? Thoughts and opinions welcome

I vote for a single blog of LTMW P&M goodness! Keeping up one blog is hard enough if you ask me!

Just noticed the glowing vents in the shot of the magnet on your knights torso. Great little detail!

Just saying if you don’t have a war dog named SPOT, your doing it wrong . Great painting work on these guys, can’t wait to see the whole crew together.

Nice knights, very effective colour scheme. Looking forward to seeing what you do with the warcry set. I've been tempted into buying that too, bigger box than I was expecting, there's a lot of plastic in there

Cheers everyone, seems like Warcry is going to go in here then...and I have some work to do.

I am not even going to construct the three warbands until I have painted the two from the starter set. I may paint the Shattered Stormvault before the starter box scenery though as it seems a little easier to power through. That said I have my first Warcry model done, and who else but the Ogor Breacher from the Iron Golem faction. I basically copied the GW scheme, the armour is Blood For the Blood God over leadbelcher and a mediumed down black wash to calm it down a bit.

Thanks for looking.

Quite Khornate, and quite nice. The little bits of patina really make it work.

Love the patina also.

The skin tones on him are very nice as well. I’ve seen the models in person at our shop, very hard to pass it up but funds mandate me skipping out.

I am sure that the warband will be released separately at a later date, hopefully they can shoehorn the Warbands into Shadespire and vice versa.

@Youwasshock: thank you, I felt a bit odd basically copying the GW scheme but I really like the way it looks.

I finally got all the terrain from the starter made up yesterday, there is so much of it. I think if you can get 20-25% off the starter set that the terrain represents a pretty good wargaming investment. Have also begun more work on the Iron Golems warband, just need to decide on a terrain colour scheme next.

A bit more progress on my Warcry stuff. Started with a few easy terrain bits, I chose a simple scheme that hopefully pops on the tabletop. It is just dry brushing with a black undercoat then brushed with Incubi Darkness, Thunderhawk blue and then a final dusting of Ushabti bone so it is nice and easy:

I also got a couple more Iron Golem warriors painted up. First was probably my favourite of all the sculpts is the Signifer as nothing seems less practical than going into skirmish combat than carrying a great big metal icon to show your allegiance:

I also got the Chaos Dwarf Armator done as well, I may well make myself a metal beard after seeing this guy:

And the boys together:

5 more to go and the warband is done. I may also start on my least favourite of all the sculpts, the chaos chicken Raptoryx's.

Thanks for looking.

GWAR! What is it good for? No idea.

Got the cursed Raptoryx's out of the way. Not my favourite sculpts but have learned to appreciate them a little more after painting them. The bodies and wings were mainly painted with contrast paints in a 50/50 mix with the contrast medium over a wraithbone primer. I am content enough with the results:

I also picked up a piece of fun for my Celestial Lions, this one falls into the so crazy it is probably good category:

Next up is probably more Iron Golem's and terrain.

Thanks for looking.

Cheers gents, they are some funky chickens. Work has recently been very busy, so not much time for painting but the purchase train continues...

This time it is Space Marine Heroes series 2 for my Celestial Lions. I went the whole hog and bought a case, that got me 8 of the 9 sculpts.

Luckily my first opened box got me the 1 in 20 Terminator Captain armed with combi melta and power fist:

And here are the rest of the guys, I love the Assault Cannon Terminator:

And the duplicates, here the original sculpt is on your left and the "converted" one to the right:

And a size comparison with a Terminator I finished (well, needs some grass tufts) the other day. I aim to finish this unit before painting these guys:

I also got the leader model, The Dominar, for my Iron Golem done:

Thanks for looking.

Nice, that captain is awesome and you've done a great job eliminating the duplicates.

Chaos champion looks great, that's going to be an fearsome warband when they're all done!

I really like the Space Marine Heroes sculpts. It's a bit ironic that they might be the final non-Primaris marines.

The supply does not get to make the demands.

The Raptoryx look really good with just a quick Contrast coat. Good use of the paint to get a nice result quickly on models that you aren’t that passionate about.

Wow! As a kid I always dreamed of being able to buy a display box full of collectibles like that... and they’re boxes full of Terminators! Colour me jealous! The test Termi looks great and loving how you’ve made simple changes to make the duplicates look unique.

Your Warcry chaps are looking nice and grim too. Their skin colour looks great what’s your recipe? The funky chickens look especially good given they’re just contrasted!

Keep the awesome coming! I vote Terminators...

Just popping in to say that normal service will be resumed soon, have just had some motivation issues the past two months as well as some dull (but nothing serious) real life stuff the past two months.

As ever being a hobby butterfly I have no idea what I will be painting for you next, but expect to see Knights, Celestial Lions, Warcry and perhaps some Ossiarch Bonereapers.

Year to date wise my miniatures painted total is a bit poor, only 161 this year and more than half of that is from CMON's A Song Of Ice and Fire miniatures game. I aim to hit 200 painted by the end of the year, but we shall see.

Anyway, thanks for popping by and taking a look. See you soon.

Stretch for that 200. I gave up counting years ago when I crushed it with Zombicide.

Thank you for the kind words gents. I decided to get started on my new Ossiarch Bone Reapers, initially I was undecided on the miniature range but it has really grown on me. I wanted to start with possibly my favourite miniature in the entire range The Mortisan Boneshaper. Have settled on a classic, for me, mainly bone and purple scheme with blue cloth and red gems.

Here he is:

Also began work on a unit of Mortek Guard, these come in minimum units of 10 so I have got half of a unit of these done already. With contrast skeleton horde, and a mix of medium, getting the basecoat down on these is really easy. Am very happy with how they look:

Have also done the Endless Spells, these were pretty easy to do with a Hexwraith flame and medium mix over a wraithbone basecoat:

And here they are with the Boneshaper:

So another 9 miniatures added to the painted pile and a start of another new army. Up next I have more Mortek guard, the Harvester, catapult, Liege Kavalos and Arkhan The Black to paint.

Thanks for looking.
