Cool preview. Those Children of Atom will be handy for a number of things, not just the crazies themselves. Finally Brahmin and Yao Guai. I can appreciate another Deathclaw with a nice pose as well. I've been waiting for specialized Protectrons as well.

I find the Gunners interesting. They weren't much to look at in Fallout 4, but the models look even more thrown together. That's a nice take on wasteland mercenaries, seeing them trying to get all the good US military hardware they can lay their hands on but never achieving anything close to the regimented look of the Brotherhood or Enclave. That's pretty cool.

Good to have P.A.M. with the Railroad for a new Assaultron pose. I like that one. Great to finally get Deacon, too.

And yeah, Swan is good. Need one.

Nehekhara lives! Sort of!

I was surprised with how good the CoA and Gunners looked as well. Great figures to use for their intended purpose but also for the RPG as anything really. The creatures and robots were awesome (and I'm hoping for a protectron plastic kit in the future since these new ones aren't modular at all). I'm also always into creatures and they did a great job with the mongrals, Yao Guai and Brahman. They all look better then they ever have in a game.

Overall I think I actually like what's in here more then the NV wave.

The steam is still up on Twitch for anyone that missed it, then will move to YouTube.

We'll start going over the models and rules in the new year as we run up to launch, but given he is such an awesome model I thought I'd drop Swan in for anyone that missed out last night.

I think it's easy to say that Swan is easily in the top miniatures Modiphius has produced. Mixing the concept art in with the game model really improved upon the final design and I'm glad Bethesda went with that.

Not being limited by an engine cap or anything certainly freed up Domingo to stretch on this one. I was thrilled when they signed off on my idea to lean into the concept art for sure, it just adds that much more to the piece.

Watching Domingo create special sculpting tools for all the rope and netting was wild, and he spent ages getting all the feathers and rope to sit just right.

I feel like we still fly under the radar a little (that's on us as much as anything, always looking at more ways to get our name out there and get folks to give us a try) but models like Swan and Mirmulnir show the team have got the chops, so hopefully we can tempt people in.

This one is a painters dream for sure.

In other news, didn't get a chance to drop this earlier. 3D print product available now on the Modiphius store, my mini factory and DriveThru RPG, plus a tease (a very very small tease) for what's coming in January on the STL front.

Its the second Friday of the month and that means new releases.

Our current exploration of the 3D printing sphere continues apace, this month six new sets of scatter themed around the Dry Rock Gulch in Nuka World arrive.

Each set provides one or more pieces of scatter terrain that can be printed, painted and dropped onto your tables with minimal effort and really add that Fallout flavour.

The sets can also be picked up as a bundle that saves you vs buying each one individually.

Available through the Modiphius website https://www.modiphius.net/collections/fallout-wasteland-warfare?sort_by=created-descending as well as Drive Thru RPG and My Mini Factory, all files are provide both pre-supported and unsupported to make them as easy to use as we can.

Hope you enjoy.

There's a Terrain competition going on right now.

https://www.modiphius.net/blogs/news/fallout-february-terrain-competition

There is no specific theme for the latest competition, instead I wanted to take the chance to celebrate Wasteland terrain building in all its variety. With so many options and tools available now, this is a chance for people to play to their strengths and impress me with their skills.

There are four categories, each focusing on one “stream” of terrain building. Each category will have one winner, earning themselves $100 credit to spend on the webstore. You could use that to add some of the new STL bundles or pick up some of our classic resin kits. Or you could save it for the Commonwealth release which is almost upon us.

The categories are as follows. Note, there will be some amount of judges' decision in this as I don’t want to limit creativity, so aim for around 90% minimum of a given category but I reserve the right to move you to a different category if I see fit.

Entries should be one decent sized piece of scatter terrain at most (a building, cluster of trees, scatter terrain piece or similar). Entries should be no larger than 12”x12”.

Category 1 - 3D printed. This category is for anyone who has been using our STLs to decorate their tables and terrain. Show off one or more of the recent releases in all their glory.

Category 2 - Resin terrain. This category is for anyone who likes to paint up our resin terrain offerings. Paint one or more pieces of terrain from the physical range.

Category 3 - Scratch build. This is the one for all your traditionalists who like to build your terrain from the junk of the wasteland itself. Show off one or more pieces of terrain you have created from the ground up using junk materials and crafting skills.

Category 4 - Mixed. Entries for this category can use any or all of the above options as well as 3rd party products. Maybe you have an MDF house kit that you have modded with some resin Fallout details, maybe you have taken one of the STLs but then combined it with your own scratch building skills to make something unique, almost anything goes here really.

Entries should be submitted to me via email at jon.webb@modiphius.com and should be sent between February 1st and March 31st. Please send up to 5 images maximum.

Everyone can enter each category once, I will take the first entry from a person per category and disregard any others so make sure you are happy with your images and creations before hitting submit.

Terms and conditions for entry can be found at: https://www.modiphius.net/pages/competition-terms-and-conditions

Product should be hitting shelf next month.

We may not see the book arriving at the start of the wave as planned, but it will follow close behind if it misses street date, but the models are all in place for go date.

I don't think we are doing pre-orders tbh, I'm not a fan. I'd rather we took people's money when we were ready to ship.

Bundles, we will see. There is some internal discussion around the merits or otherwise of them but Chris loves a bundle so I'm sure they will pop up eventually.

A bundle is just a selection of items placed into a box, which Chris also loves, and sent to the customer. Chris already has something that can create infinite bundles and so you should just rebrand your webstore to the "Modiphius Ultimate Bundel Experience" platform.

Don’t give him ideas

The issue around bundles is bundles with discounts give us an advantage over retailers who can not offer the same discount so are reluctant to stock product.

There are merits to both positions but without retailers it’s hard to penetrate markets.

If we were 100% direct only prices would be cheaper but it also means fewer customers.

Business is hard...

Some non STL related news happening.

First off Liberty Prime rules available. Cards aren't up yet but we have the point cost, 1000 caps, and a really nice rules release. The cards only just got uploaded yesterday or today so I haven't had time to look over them yet but the rules look to be pretty interesting. With Prime itself having unlimited HP but you instead have to target different subsystems that provided different bonuses. From a basic read you can only target those randomly which is the only thing that stands out as being unsure how that will play out.

https://www.modiphius.net/pages/fallout-downloads

With more and more things going to that downloads page it would be nice to have a link to it on the US store.

Also Commonwealth Pre-orders have started to go up. For fellow US people:

https://www.miniaturemarket.com/table-top-miniatures/fallout-wasteland.html?filter[]=product_tag_uFilter:%22Preorder%22
https://www.gamenerdz.com/fallout-wasteland-warfare?sort=newest

The book and card-set are delayed, which Jon did warn would happen, but is much more substantial then the New Vegas booklet. It's over 60 pages and, from a FB post:

It contains five sections, covering terrain and region rules, model gallery, painting guides, strategy guides and scenarios. The book also reprints some of the missing content from the wave 1 cards as promised some time ago.

The die cut cards are also a thicker stock.

also from Facebook is a bit more from Jon on what he wants from the books (some which I believe he's mentioned here before)

The long term vision is a sort of codex/campaign book for each release. Its tricky as there are some things we can't do yet, or are just exploring (lore is a big one that is not a simple fix yet) but hopefully as we further develop the line it will all come to be.
128 pages is my dream
The game is nicely maturing now with a solid baseline of minis and options so the second phase of development of the game is to expand and improve on what we have now we are beyond the groundwork stage.
Of course, that doesn't mean you've seen all the factions or options, trust me, plenty more to come on that level, but now we have the core laid out we can start to do more exciting things and deeper experiences.

Wave 7, The Commonwealth, was officially released last Friday. You can get all the cards from the downloads page as usual.

https://www.modiphius.net/pages/fallout-downloads

The rulebook and cards have been delayed a month so May/June depending on where you order from. Right now only Modiphius has releases in stock in the US but retailers should be getting them soon.

Jon also gave a release schedule update:

Running order for wave 6.
April: Grognak, Gunners Core, Railroad Core
May: Commonwealth Rules/Card expansion, Gunners Conquerors of Quincy, Railroad Operatives
June: Protectron Workers, Mr Handy Set
July: Children of Atom Congregation, Swan
August: Deathclaw Matriarch, Yao Guai Ambush
September: Brahmin Herd, Mongrel Scavengers
Note - all dates subject to the ongoing shipping issues so may slip without warning.
This wave will then be followed by Forged in the Fire (Wave 7), we'll be showing off the contents of that wave in the future and its a supplemental wave to the above, featuring two new sub factions and some further reinforcements for existing factions/things that have profiles but no models.
Wave 8 will be 2023 and covers the Capitol region, highlighting the Enclave and Lyon's Brotherhood of Steel.

Jon also hinted not too long ago that Wave 7 will have a non-feral Ghoul box.

I was thinking that but Wave 7 is supposed to be mostly FO4 stuff but we do know Centaurs are in it even though they aren't in FO4. With Wave 8 being Fallout 3 themed it would seam odd to have the Underworld in Wave 7 but it could be and I wouldn't complain. Outside of that I would guess Ghoul Survivors from The Slog as it's not the Chinese Sub crew based off of FB comments.

If they call the wave Forged in the Fire and it has settlers from the Slog (perhaps?), right across the road there's the Raider group called the Forged. So Raiders in hard hats with a flamer fetish?

I can see the Slog residents and Forged as subfaction of survivors and raiders respectively. Hopefully ghoulified vault tec salesman as the special model for the wave? And the various wandering traders like Trash Can Carla would be nice, maybe bundled with a pack brahmin?

Commonwealth samples are in.

Spoiler:

One of the new additions is tables replacing the wasteland deck and item decks if you want a simpler setup. It's done by region in boston which is a nice addition to the game as that's probably my lead favorite part of setup. I also like that they're starting to encourage AI in non-solo game modes too as ES:CTA uses this for some fun scenarios and FWW should be pushing AI wherever it can as it's a great system in the game.

Little spoiler from a distributor I found after someone mentioned their LFGS had it listed for sale. Jon has been teasing this recently, so I won't steal too much of his thunder by posting the description accompanying the image. looks to be a Q3 release.

Please feel free to post away. If its gone to solicitation then its fair game.
I don't want to be that company that has to post everything new, its nice when the fans/community take some charge there as it reassures me people are playing/paying attention.

This may be sooner than Q3 depending on where you are in the world and the whole shipping thing...

The basic premise is that its a book of faction lead scenarios though... its one of the products that got held up in the great approval delay of 2020 but its timeless content with lots of new missions to try out, so I'll be interested to see how folks get on with it.

Fair enough. Sounded like you were planning a reveal sooner then later. I always wondered where the FWW equivalent of Histories of the Empire was. Now I know. Delayed almost a year.

Here's the description from the back of the product:

You want a peaceful life, full of fun, laughter, and care-free living? You want a white picket fence and inviting the neighbors round for a pool party? You want modern living and conveniences, with friendly robots and cute critters? Well you’ve come to the wrong place!

The Wasteland is a hip shooting, rough riding, danger around every corner kind of place, and you have only your (semi) trusted allies to help. It’s death gauntlets and killer cyborgs. It’s planting a flag for you and yours and raiding the resources of them and theirs. It’s high octane, all out war for even a scrap of usable land. It’s ruined cities, it’s desolate wastelands, it’s military bases and patched settlements. It’s all yours for the taking, for as long as you can. You want easy living? You should have stayed in the vault, because your tale won’t be Astoundingly Awesome without getting your hands dirty.

This astonishingly action-packed 52-page expansion for the Fallout: Wasteland Warfare miniatures game includes an abundant assortment of scenarios that can be played individually or linked together into five three-part mini-campaigns. Astoundingly Awesome Tales Chapter 1 also includes optional supporting material that can be used for either solo or versus games, and amazingly atmospheric narrative suggestions that help to ground your forces in the battlefield and provide motivation for the factions involved.

May releases are out (last week actually) including the Commonwealth core book and Astoundingly Awesome Tales (Book ships in July but you can snag the PDF now) and an STL set for Trucks. I was wanting those trucks just the other week when playing FO76 so maybe I have some subconsious link to the STL release schedule that I'm not aware of.

I picked up the set, as I have a new large resin printer coming in a few weeks and I'm happy to see that Modiphius has added one of the more requested options for the vehicle STL sets which is flat and inflated wheels/tires so you can choose.

Also out are the second set of Railroad and Gunner boxes (command boxes basically).

I picked up the AAT#1 PDF and wrote a review over on Reddit. It's kind of wordy so probably not something appropriate for this thread but a small snippet about the scenarios I wrote up gives you an idea of what the book is like:

Each faction (from the early waves) have 3 linked (if you want) scenarios where they're the viewpoint faction of the basic storyline. For each faction the 3 scenarios start out at a low cap cost (generally 150) and tend to be a bit simplistic with the objectives and then scale up to higher cap costs and add more complexity to the scenario.

This might turn off people looking for a larger pool of PvP scenarios that can be used at larger cap amounts as 2/3rds of the scenarios are less then 500 caps and many wouldn't work well with larger cap totals in my opinion (though the raider's starting one would as you randomly assign units to each player) but what you're getting instead is a lot of narrative driven missions and smaller cap totals can allow for some interesting scenarios like killing as little of the opposing force as possible.

AAT#1 also introduces the Regional Tables that are also included in the Commonwealth book. They're meant to speed up setup and remove a bunch of cards from the table, and add some small flavor to any scenario based off of the location/region you've selected, since you still need the cards you have to search for them all and place them somewhere so it's a good idea in concept but you'll need to make your own sheets of those cards (most which aren't available in PDF form so you'll need to scan/photocopy what you have or take screenshots in the app). For the second part they do this pretty well by changing up what type of cards appear, add hazards or other small changes in how certain things behave.

Full wordy review here

Thanks for the heads up and the review. Those trucks look super nice. I kinda wish I had a printer but I have such a long backlog of minis to go through, it would just add more stuff for me to paint.

I read the full wordy review. More and more, the cards are pushing me away from this game. They were a very bad idea - there's too many of them now, and as the game expands, it's just getting worse and worse.

Well, the cards, and the scale and conversion-unfriendly nature of the minis. More and more, FO:WW feels like a card collecting game that requires me to paint small statuettes as stand-ins.
