I'm thinking about using a McFarlane dragon for the base of an Orc Warbosses' Wyvern, is this idea if that would work out, or are the proportions/size wrong?
I'm looking at this one in particular (Berserker dragon series 3):
Just chiming in - love me some McDragons, really great stuff. Sweet to see them used in warhammer applications, though can't remember seeing a character actually mounted on one. Generally they stand and gesture whilst near a dragon ...
The one's I've seen are about the right size. Bigger than GW's maybe, but not too big IMHO. That Berzerker Dragon is 5" tall including the base, so it should be ok. Have you seen the Series 6 Ice Clan Dragon? Pretty rad.

There might be some problems with the detail clashing IMHO. The McFarlane dragons have very fine sculpting and details that may not mesh well with the typical GW model's detail. Sorta like if you tried using Warhammer parts on Confrontation miniatures, it *might* look slightly wrong, but I guess you would have to actually try it to see if it's really noticeable.
