Did a brief read through of the book last night and so far I really like the rules. Very simple, seems like it will play very fast as well.
We haven't gotten our models yet but I am definitely looking forward to giving this a go. It looks like it will be a lot of fun.

yeah you can get printer card stock at office places, I was gonna print mine on that too.. or another good way to do paper buildings is to print them on full page labels, and then you can cut it out and stick the labels into poster board or whatever

Got my book today, models hopefully to come thursday/friday.
I'm rather pleased by the book, the fluff, while not the most extensive, is at least somewhat interesting and there's more than enough for a fairly new universe.
The rules look solidly simple, I'll get into them more tonight, but I'm rather impressed so far.

Apologies if these have already been asked, but there's some oddities in the rules I was wondering if I was reading right or am I missing something.
1: QCB, units that enter a building can't fight in a QCB that turn, does this mean a unit that assaults into a structure basically gets screwed its first turn? (P32)
2: Scourge Corsair Swarms are Interceptors with an AA specific rule...and no AA guns? (P95)
3: It appears there's no option to actually specify taking Juno A2's (miniguns), only the A1's (cannon) as both infantry entries specify Juno A1 and the entry for the Juno makes it clear these are two different variants and no options for swapping. Am I missing something or is this just a typo? (P119/120)
4: While there's flavor text about Scourge being unable to re-embark on dropships, is where an actual rule for this?
5: Taranis Missile Batteries don't appear to have a Coherency stat, am I missing something? (P119)
6: Tritons and Ravens appear to have different costing based on whether they can transport infantry or vehicles, and appear to have very similar roles, however the Raven's expensive version is the vehicle transporting one while the Triton's expensive iteration is the Infantry transporting one. Anyone else wondering if one of these was costed backwards? (P77/P115)
I'll post more questions later, hopefully we'll get a rulebook FAQ up soon, thanks in advance for any responses!

Got a starter set's worth assembled, with some trees and buildings enough for my first game tonight. I have a lot more of everything to build! The buildings were just printed on thick paper... I think they are OK. Already time consuming, I can't imagine making an inner structure
The trees were from a kit, like 50 for $15 from Hobbytown, I just have to cut them to size and then glue on the foliage. You can probably get them even cheaper, but it was way cheaper as a kit than pre-assembled ones.
@ Vaktathi: 4: It's just fluff, they can re-embark (I think the fluff actually means the dropships can't get back out of the atmosphere, not that the models can't get back on them, now that I've read it. I.e., they're invading the planet to stay, but they still need mobility on the surface).

What's a good way to flock the bases for the little guys? I usually do a mix of fine and coarse ballast from woodland scenics, and add in some bitz of static grass.. but I have a feeling it's gonna look way too big, like the fellas are wading through an ocean of small boulders. Would GW"s new texture paints be good? or should I just use fine sand?

Invaders ought to be carried on dropships with two pairs of racks, but if the Invaders fit then you can have one-size-fits-all.

This is correct, think of Scourge dropships as high tech VTOLs, they provide airmobility but not orbit boost capability.

Metcalf are cardstock, so you have to be delicate assembling them yes? I can see how that would take longer, you don't need to paint them though.
Its a quality product, don't get me wrong, but I dismissed cardstock as an option long ago; it is ok for background buildings on a railway layout I suppose, however I question the durability and lack of surface texture you get with the correct plastic kit.
Tomix do a nice range of plastic N Gauge churches, cost £14 each on feebay and are prepainted and reassembled.

They don't fight during the activation that they enter, CQB is resolved the next time a battle group that one of the occupiers belongs to is actived (in the current turn or the next). The whole CQB is resolved at the same time so, it's not a situation where one side swings and then the other. The bit about the aggressor having to wait if its battlegroup is activated is just referring to the fact that it's only the occupier's activation that triggers the fight, and only after his infantry has a chance to move, shoot, search, etc...

Thanks for the answers so far, the Errata proved rather difficult to find from their main site.
I'm finding that this game is going to require a rather significant investment in terrain, buildings specifically, and lots of them, something most stores/clubs are going to need to stock up on for this game to play right.
I'm also rather surprised by the extremely low movement rates. It looks like they work for the most part, but I can definitely see where the aircraft are vital when your big scary walkers are only moving a maximum of 12" over the course of a 6 turn game and the bleeding-fast skimmer units get to move a mighty...6-9 inches at top speed
I can't wait for my models, I'm really hoping they get here tomorrow.

Not the arms, no. For me it was both Taranis turrets having gaps along their back.
What happened to the battlescribe files being made? I was playing another game last night (beat UCM in a "Land Grab" after my Taranis destroyed the focal point near the UCM deployment zone) and constantly flipping through the book to get unit stats is becoming a right pain. I'm thinking about sitting down for a few hours and making some unit cards.
