Thank you, JoshInJapan!

It is primarily Contrast work, over the zenithal rattlecan prime job. I was aiming for quick, easily adopted techniques. This was both to get it done in a reasonable amount of time, and to show as an example of what can be done with quick methods and a few flourishes.

The last mini is the Gorm from Kingdom Death. Heck of a design.

What a nice update full of great models. I have to agree with Josh about Gorm, that demon baby is creepy.

The marine turned out well, hopefully the steam comes back to the club after the break. Love the eyes on the darkspace mini, a really nice detail you added. The ASOIAF minis do look really cool all ranked up, the big square unit bases with round inserts are very aesthetically pleasing… the form I’ll just try to forget before bedtime!

Everything looks great!

I always liked the Relic Knights stuff, but heard too many horror stories to pick any up myself.

Thank you, guys!

Good to see the Gorm is still a model that causes people to look under their beds at night.

Relic Knights has some good stuff, their newer models look very cool, and being resin casts shouldn't suffer from the issues that plagued their PVC minis. But, they have struggled for a long time, and I, for one, won't be giving them any more money.

WiP on the Gorm and four more ASoIaF minis done.

I will probably take a real pic of the Night Watch when the movement tray is full.

And the Stormcast I grabbed from Warhammer club is looking like this now.

From AoS to 40K in several easy steps. This mini will show (hopefully) model versatility and the value of a bit box.

Thanks again for the comments, and thanks for looking!

And he's done. The Gorm from Kingdom Death. One of their oldest designs, dating back to when they were just putting out limited run resin models. One of their most iconic, too, I would wager.

And a close-up, in case you need to feel closer to the rhino baby monster.

Pleased with the mottling on the face.

Thanks for looking!

Looks like I will be taking part in the paint challenge again this month. Been wanting to work on this guy, Apocalypse from The Others. A game I have never played, but I got a great deal on this expansion at a game swap meet. He came with their version of the Four Horsemen, who I have since given to a friend, but this model is too wild to part with.

Should be able to get him done in a month. Thanks for looking!

I absolutely do NOT like the white head on the Gorm as it reminds me of creepy dolls... which is probably why it works well, hah.

Any advice on painting it? I want to paint my model but I am put off by the large flat areas which I am not sure how to tackle.

Your work on Gorm is fantastic, and by fantastic I mean horrid! And then you decide to follow up with that toothy-tentacly creature? You may be my guru.

Now showing The Fellowship of the Ring, along with some Dreadball Captains!

Thank you, everyone! Compliments very appreciated.

JoshInJapan, I do love the monsters!

Boringstuff, my advice is to just get stuck in painting it. The model has a surprising amount of texture, despite looking a bit flat at first. It will take well to drybrushing, but also to more subtle techniques.

A quick WiP for Apocalypse. All prepped and ready for paint.

Thanks for looking!

Wow! That gorm is just disturbing! The desaturation of the skin really makes the red and green stand out even more. Was the red just a liberal does of BFTBG?
The Apocalypse mini looks stacked full of gribbly details, some contrast on that is going to rock!

Agree with everyone else that the Gorm is a very disturbing miniature, but well-painted!

Hey mate,

The superhero minis on the last page are great, the colours really pop and they look sweet all together!

That nightmare baby is cooked but very well done. The eyes - are they coloured or black & varnished or something else?

Not enough tentacles on the new guy I think...

Thanks, everyone!

Yeah, gobert. It's Blood for the Blood God. Stuff does its job well.

tzurk, the eyes have been painted with a slight reflection of the lure and also glossed.

Little WiP. Last week was pretty much a loss, but I got some time in over the weekend.

Almost done. Thanks for looking!

Thanks for the info, I need to start making better use of blood effects I think.

The tentacle dude and the ASOIAF minis are looking cool already too, good luck finishing them up… also love your painting handle! Genius! And also super cool Princess Bride link too

Thank you, fellows!

Heh, the mug helped a lot. This was one mini I was glad to be able to get at from all angles.

Wrapped up Mr. Tentacular Spectacular. Apocalypse, from The Others. Fun mini. Lot of detail.

Also finished the three Night Watchmen, polishing off that unit, and the two lampposts for MCP, but they are all fairly dull on their own so no pics.

Thanks for looking!

Gruesome! Was Mr Tentacular fully slap chopped? He certainly looks tailor made for it! Great job spotting and loving out all of those

Apoc looks awesome, so much weirdness happening with this model. I actually have him as well, you're convincing me to break him out, find a use and slop some paint around

Thanks, guys!

gobert, sort of a mix. The cloth and armor were traditionally painted, the skin areas (comprising the majority of the model) were contrast over the grey/white drybrush.

Go for it, Boss Salvage!

Looks like I will be participating in the monthly challenge again. This month's theme is Mistakes Were Made. I think this before/after pair works well.

Wrapped up another couple small things, too. Pics soon. Thanks for looking!

Also assembled and primed these two. Sabine Wren and a rando Mando. Figured I should start working on the Mandalorian minis I have been stockpiling.

Thanks for looking!

Automatically Appended Next Post:
And the pics of the latest completions.

First, the trial Mandalorian. Figure I should be happy with this level of finish on the rest (I have steadily been buying the Mandalorian releases for Legion, I am pretty sure I am only missing the gal included in the Shadow Collective starter). I plan to do each one in their own scheme, inspired in no small part by the covert members from The Mandalorian.

And a shot of him squaring off with the other mini I finished.

Have started assembly on the challenge minis, musing over what to do, if anything for the centennial, and am getting ready to start the next Mandos. Thanks for looking!
