Fate-Controlling Farseer

Fort Campbell

Hey guys.  Got a big BFG game coming up this weekend.  As I said, 4000pts.  I'm playing against Chaos.  Here's what I'm planning on using.  He usually roles real heavy on ordnance, so I'm going to be using the escorts as a screening wall against them, as well as keeping the cruiser carriers constantly pumping out Fighters.  Anyone out there have any suggestions to better the list?  I'm using the standard Gothic Fleet, and I have access to just about everything except Dauntless's.

Sqaudron 1:
Emperor Class Battleship
Retribution Class Battleship

Squadron 2:
Mars Class Battlecruiser
Overlord Class Battlecruiser
Overlord Class Battlecruiser

Squadron 3:
Tyrant Class Cruiser
Gothic Class Cruiser
Lunar Class Cruiser

Squadron 4:
Tyrant Class Cruiser
Gothic Class Cruiser
Lunar Class Cruiser

Squadron 5:
Dominator Class Cruiser
Dictator Class Cruiser
Dictator Class Cruiser

Squadron 6:
3 Sword Class Frigates

Squadron 7:
3 Sword Class Frigates

Squadron 8:
3 Firestorm Class Frigates

Squadron 9:
4 Cobra Class Destroyers

Adrift within the vortex of my imagination.

1. You need to add an Admiral (and rerolls).

2. Dont squadron the capital ships!

Squadron the Dictators so that you can combine ordinance.
You can squadron the Gothics and Lunars together too.
Finally squadron the Tyrants, upgrade the ranges on them.
Leave the rest single.

Other than that, nice fleet.

n'oublie jamais - It appears I now have to highlight this again.

It is by tea alone I set my mind in motion. By the juice of the brew my thoughts aquire speed, my mind becomes strained, the strain becomes a warning. It is by tea alone I set my mind in motion.

I did have a Solar Admiral with 4 rerolls. Just forgot to put it in there. Everything that could have upgrades did (except for the nova cannons on the Tyrants and Lunars).

I kept the fleet together like I listed it, and devestated the Chaos fleet. My only casualties where the Cobra's which I sacrificed to stop 30 assault boats from hitting my Battle Cruisers, and 5 of my Swords. In return, I crippled the Planet Killer, Terminus Est, and a Murder, then destroyed a Styx, and most of his escorts. By that point, my entire fleet was in the center of his fleet, preparing to do a full broadside. He conceded the game.

I tend to have better luck with the Tyrant, Lunar, Gothic squadron, then keeping them seperated.  When the three are firing together, it gives me a solid amount of WB shots to drop whatevers shields before I open up with the 6 lances.  Pretty much assured to lay down some hurt on whatever ship I'm firing on.
