Sadly Gorthor became the generic Beastlord on Chariot, which would have been fine except that they took away the brayherd keyword. So the majority of the time this model is on the table top it will probably just be a standard beastman chariot. Needless to say this one is going to take a bit longer to get painted.
Exalt! That is one hell of a chariot

I finally got my Overlords. One of each ship, a troops, a grundstock, skywarden, admiral, and navigator. I'll get to work modelling these next month and have them ready to paint over Canadian winter.
Now to plan out my Barak Mhornar theme. Mostly the metals on the ship's hull I need to consider as well as their underside pattern I am going to paint on. I think the classic vertical striped look would go best with the raiders of this barark but now I'm trying to think what colours would compliment their existing ones shown in the book.
Hmmm decisions decisions.

A whole starter force like Mongoose? Uhhh, no. I have 2 kids under 3 years old, so I was thoroughly pleased to paint a single Retributor. It's taken me over three months to paint a 'skirmish' force of 11 Stormcast models. Here's the previous 10:

Hello,
So i have been playing 40k for a couple of years, but Fantasy have always interested me. And especially Skaven after i read their Codex. Man i love those rats, and the fluff is amazing.
I don't know much about Age of Sigmar yet, but ill get into it slowly i guess. Anyway. My project is apparently a HUGE Skaven army.
So wouldnt you know it. A store who were selling figures shut down near me. So a lot of stuff were on sale with great prices and i bought a few Skaven boxes for about 150 dollars or a bit over maybe. And when i say good prices, i mean seriously good prices!
Some say we shouldn't buy in bulks but i couldnt resist. This is what i got.

amazingturtles wrote:Whoa, yeah, that is amazing deal! and a lot of work, i mean, even the island of blood box alone...
Yea, a lot of work. But i think it will be a lot of fun! And the Island of blood box is only the half. I don't intent to paint the High Elfs, so i will probably sell them.
But theses boxes are a bit old. They come with square bases and not the new round ones. Should i try to aquire round bases or should i just keep the square ones? What do you think. Will it cause truble?

Unless your gaming group has a restriction on square bases, that's really more of a personal preference. I don't care for square/rectangles, so I always go out of my way to rebase on rounds, but that's just me. Plus I somehow ended up with around 100 spare 25mm-40mm bases at one point, so I have plenty to use.

You should go to the rounds. It affects how many models can get into melee range over a given area, so you could have an advantage since the squares have a smaller footprint.

Aye, squares have an advantage over rounds, in addition to rounds just looking better in AOS. Rounds just make sense, especially when starting a new army so you don't need to rip off old bases or anything like that.

Seems everyone is for round bases. Then i gotta get some round bases. I did always like the regiment look they had with square bases
And you are probably right, better that i round base them now, as i just started up. Less problems later if anyone have a problem with it.

I won't be surprised if measuring to the base becomes the official rule rather than a "suggested house rule". If that happens, rounds will be the standard. As long as you have access to them, that's the way I would go.

In the Warp, getting trolled by Tactical_Spam, AKA TZEENTCH INCARNATE
|
I've been working on my Slaves to Darkness Skirmish warband some more, although progress is rather slow due to the large amount of cutting needed to make everything fit. Today I worked on the warband's leader, the Dread Marshal (working title).
In Skirmish games, I'll be running him as Not-Slambo, if my opponent permits it, of course. I'm not sure what to do with his torso though; should I leave the Khorne rune as it is, or should I replace it with something less god-specific?
I also made some progress on the second Chaos Warrior, and on the Khorgorath:
|
Tactical_Spam: Ezra is fighting reality right now.
War Kitten: Vanden, you just taunted the Dank Lord Ezra. Prepare for seven years of fighting reality...
War Kitten: Ezra can steal reality
Kharne the Befriender:Took him seven years but he got it wrangled down

I don't know why I can't just leave a model alone..but uh..have a coming together zombie dragon..covered in plant life..on a tree. Local game store is having a monster mash themed free for all near halloween so I thought it was the perfect time to finish off my Sylvaneth army with their, intended from the beginning, centerpiece model. Then I can get back to my backlog again..hopefully.
Enjoy! This one should be finished up easily enough once the friggin base comes in. I have plaaans for it..and maybe some of the 60 dryads I don't actually need.
Quick edit: As per usual, comments, critiques, suggestions, etc etc all adored <3
