A venerable dreadnought has 3 atttacks in close combat. If I hit it with a powerfist and get a penetrating 2 (weapon destroyed and stunned), how many attacks will it have in the next close combat phase? The dreadnought has extra armor.

My first thought is, I had one "wound" so it loses an attack, but after thinking about it, I broke off its weapon arm and its shaken... so do I get a 2 for 1 deal here and the enemy dreadnought loses 2 attacks?

Imobilised, shaken and stunned Walkers lose 1A, weapon destroyed only loses the dread any bonus attacks it had due to the weapon, i.e. if it had 2 Dreadnought close-combat weapons and one was destroyed it would lose the +1 attack it got for having the 2 weapons. So in your example it would fight with 2As.

Agree with Imriel Dreads only get an extra attack for 2 CCWs, so only lose an attack when the CCW is lost IF they had two in the first place. Any Stunned, Shaken, or Immobilized results will cause the dread to lose an attack in HTH, but itÂ’s not cumulative. They just lose one attack, though each damage result counts as a wound for purposes of determining who won the combat. This is covered in the walkers in assault section in the main book.

Opps. Well in both venerable dreadnought fights I had already broken their DCCW's off so haveing 1 or 2 regular str 6 attacks wouldn't have been a game breaking difference, I'll make sure to get this right next time.

Its sometimes nice to place with and against 2 mostly close combat armies, it brings back the flavor of 3rd edition where shooting wasn't necesarily the only way to play the game.

Thank you both Imreil and Mannahnin.
