Hello Dakkites

Have a 2000pt tournament coming up and I am torn as to what army I should be using. Thought I would toss a line out to dakka and see what you all thought. I will most likely see the following armies - Lizards, Wood Elves, Orcs, Chaos, Empire, Dark Elves and could perhaps see Ogres, Bretonnians and Tomb Kings.

I really favor a balanced list that is useful against any opponent that I might face. My army choices are Empire (most familiar), Chaos(very familiar), Dwarves(somewhat familiar) or Vampire Counts(somewhat familiar). I guess to further break it down

Empire - I have 2 large blocks of infantry plus detachements, a large group of flagellents, 4 groups of knights, pistoliers, outriders, steamtank, mortars, cannons and a smattering of other stuff

Chaos - enormous amounts of Warriors on foot, 12 Knights, 2 chariots, 2 spawn, 5 screamers, a whack of marauders, 11 marauder horsemen, 20 odd warhounds, 2 beast herds and a plethora of characters

Dwarves - 40 warriors, 20 hammerers, 20 thunderers, 16 crossbowmen/rangers, 20+ miners, 10 slayers, 16 ironbreakers, thorek, cannons, bolt thrower, organ gun, gyrocopter, and again a plethora of characters

I could post lists that I thought I would use for each army but I wanted to get some feedback first

If you want to win in straight up fights and really hammer your opponents go with chaos.

Either khorne or slaanesh marks.

2 units 5 chaos knighs (chosen) 1 with war banner.
2 units 5 mtd marauders for redirection of enemy.
Warhounds in units of 5 (quadrant capture and redirection)
Both spawn (why slaanesh should be an option)
5 screamers for warmachine killing
2 chariots
25 man marauder units with full command (flails are my favorite option) as many as you can jam in after characters as gives rank bonuses.

Characters to flavour-
khorne = no mages
Slaanesh = mage or 2

Actually 2 slaanesh asp champs on boobworms, one with sword of rending and one with great fang are brutal. 20 inch charge, great fighters, can dish out wounds where needed and can ride along with the knights until ready to be shot out. Dual charge vs brets and watch the bret layer cringe (challenge with the rending sword and kill knights with the great fang)
