Looking for opinions and ideas. This isn't aimed at being GT level competative, but hopefully enough that I don't have to pack it up when someone sets up min-maxed Marines, Nidzilla or Eldar across from me while still being diverse, fun and orky.

HQ:

Warphead

Mek, Shokk Attack Gun

Elites:

8 Lootas

8 Lootas

Troops:

30 boyz, 3 Rokkit
Nob, Bosspole, Power Klaw

20 boyz, 2 Rokkit
Nob, BP, PK

20 boyz, 2 Rokkit
Nob, BP, PK

20 boyz, 2 Rokkit
Nob, BP, PK

12 Boyz
Nob, BP, PK
Trukk, Big Shoota, Stickbomb chukka

Dread BS, Skorch

Fast:

Buggy TL Rkt

Buggy TL Rkt

Heavy:

Battlewagon
Rolla, BS, Red, Plates
Grot, Chukka, Grabba

Battlewagon (same as the first)

Killa Kan, Big Shoota

So the idea is to put the Warphead with the 30 strong boyz mob and roll for either waaghs or teleport. Depending on the enemy the battlewagons either deliver 20 strong boyz mobs or provide firing positions for the lootas.

Concerns: The 8 strong lootas seem like they will run away very quickly. But even up to twelve or so and they're making morale checks on pretty low numbers after not that much incoming fire. If I combine them to a single 15 strong unit I think I lose the ability to engage two targets or cover two firing lanes, plus with two units one can be completely ripped apart and I still have the other, instead of having everyone run off. Come to think of it, should I maybe even go with three units of 5, 5 and 6 if I'm going with a small squad size anyway?

Second, the dread and kan. I have the models from my first ork army circa 2000, and really want to include them. But I know they suck. But I want them. Connundrum. They seem to really add to the orkyness of the army and will hopefully provide a fire magnet from the battlewagons. What do you think?

I think combining your lootas into one large mob might be the best choice. 8 boyz in a mob means only Leadership 8, and it only gets lower from there with each casualty. An opponent only has to fire a couple missile launcher salvos your way to make them really want to leg it. 15 Lootas means at least a couple turns of being Fearless, and shooting at full effectiveness.

Use the Dread and the Kan, why not? They''re fun and they may surprise you. Make sure you pick your targets carefully with them is all.

Perhaps the Kan would be better armed with a Rokkit since its better than orky BS will make it more useful when a tank needs a decent chance of being removed.

I agree with grim combine the lootas, you would cry if turn 1 both squads were forced to run due to long range firepower (people WILL make target priority tests for them, its already widely known how deadly they are) but I would also drop a 20 man squad of boyz for either more lootas, or stormboyz. They dont suck as much as they did last codex, and with 2 battlewagons they have something tough to hop behind to get there. Relying on the warphead for waagh is one thing, but what if you roll teleport? Do you know what happens when you deepstrike 30 models? Your chances of avoiding difficult terrain, and thus 30 instant deaths, is slim to none. Also a battlecannon on that cluster that might survive would ruin your day. Or a vindicator.

warhammer 40k mmo. If I can drive an ork trukk into the back of a space marine dread and explode in a fireball of epic, I can die happy!
