So, does this mean that you can assault out of any door in the CLR or still only off the assault ramp?

It does not say that it must be from the assault ramp, it only says "disembarking."
Since the LR has 3 access points, all would be acceptable.

I've done it, had it done TO me or seen it done in friendly games in 2 different states and numerous RTT's at GW stores and LGS's. Nobody has ever questioned it.
In one of the friendly games I saw it done in, it was done by a GW staffer (not that they're perfect).

There is no rule that states that they are restricted to the "Assault Ramp". The Rules that permit assaulting from the Land Raider just specify disembarking as the only requirement.

Also note that with an LRC (same wording as the CLR) it can carry 15 models. There is little to know way that all 15 will fit within 2" of the front door.
