Holy monkeys that is a lot of Terminators. Imagine the extra cost to make it a propa' Deathwing company (what with all the DA icons and such).

Just spend another 500 on Forgeworld doors and shoulder pads.

Termies 20x $50 == $1000
HQ 3x $15 == $45
Land Raider x3 $55 == $165
Land Raider Crusader x3 $60 == $180

To a total of $1390 or save $290.

That's kind of 'meh' to be honest with you. Although it's worth buying just to see how big the box is.

The Deathwing is a great way to expand your existing Dark Angels army or to add a much-needed elite strike force to your allied Imperial Garrison.

Did some quick math and assuming you want Assault cannons on all 20 units, this "deal" comes in at just under 7,000 points.

1100/1390=.791 (aka 79%)

So unless Neal is able to get this and provide his 80% it'll be the same thing.

(BTW if Neal got was able to do it ...1100x80%=880 which would be 63% of the cost to buy everything individually)

Now WTH you would do w/ 103 terminators and 5 Raiders is beyond my bounds of thinking.

A smaller force with enough DA Sprues to make them real Deathwing would be more reasonable.

One of the guys in our group has a full Deathwing Company and 15 Raiders to take them into battle (and he also has 4 other companies of Marines plus a full Ravenwing Company).

It doesn't really serve a practical purpose outside of Apoc, but it's a lot of fun to look at.

It's a 20.863% discount from MSRP.

This not a fantastic deal, as Neal prices his items at 20% off all day, every day.
In addition, if you purchase over $500 MSRP (or $400 discounted), Neal will give you an additional 5% off (25% total discount from MSRP). $1390*25%=$347.50 or a price of $1042.50 which is better than GW's marked price.

Id rather buy from the War Store. Now if they could get one of these in stock and offer 20% or 25% of the 1100 as you said... that's $510-$565 off MSRP or a savings of 36.69%-40.647% off MSRP. $825-$880 respectively.

If I had 103 Terminators, i'd probably go insane putting them together, it's easily 5500 points

Great. Too bad the Deathwing is the SUXX0R now. Or rather, doesn't really exist, except in Apocalypse games, which this is clearly geared toward. And while other Apocalypse splash offerings (Baneblade, 3 Vindies, pile o' sentinels) might--MIGHT--be worthwhile, I don't see how 103 Termies + some ungodly number of Land Raiders fits that bill.

I just called him up and got one for $1000 either way its still a good deal. I mean now my two companies of Marines in Power Armor are not so lonley....

That army will be perfect for dipping!

Yes, but if you are in Canada and can buy that discounted from Warstore (if neil has them) you can save more than 50% off Canadian list price.

I think that's the point of selling a company of Terminators: it's stupid, but stupidly cool! I think deep down, every player is pausing to think about whether or not they can afford the entire Deathwing. Just like lots of the Apocalypse formations, it's one of those mind boggling things your don't really ever expect to see (like 10 Russes, or 10 Basiliks, or an entire company of marines...etc)

As for building, Termies are actually pretty fun and easy to build. With a few friends, I'm sure that company could be built over a weekend.

I agree it would be a lot of fun to build and would make for a great theme for an army. It's something I would consider if I wasn't already starting a new army at the moment, and if I either had a ton of money to spare, or it cost about half the price it is

The whole thing all painted up in a game would look really cool.

Who the hell has enough time to go trough assembling and painting the whole Deathwing? I'm a deathwing general and I think I have more than enough with my 3 dreadnoughts (2 FW venerables), 2 Landraiders (1 crussader), 1 Termi assault squad and 3 Termi tactical squads, along with the general, chaplain etc...

Exactly. Plus it doesn't cost GW anything. It's just consolidating a bunch o' boxes under one order code. Like the Malestrom of Gore deals they now have up.

It would be a good buy for a bunch of friends to split up between them.

As a person who owns 14 boxes of new termies, I am now currently on termie #43 and so far I have used 12 blades to clean all of the flash off and do the odd minor conversion.

I agree with people who say it gets boring getting these done after awhile.
