LAST CHANCE TO GET THE OLD DIRECT LINE!

As announced in White Dwarf 333, in late January we will be removing more of our Direct Sales component range from sale to give us time to reorganize and relaunch our new "Bitz" range.

If you collect models from our back catalog or particularly want components for individual conversions, don't wait much longer to get the parts or models you need.

Click to download the list of items we will be removing from the Direct Sales line in Microsoft Excel or Adobe Acrobat format.

Wait, didn't they do this already? Or was that a different set of bitz, and now they're removing some more?

Except for the Sisters of Battle, they are only losing the separate Sister Superior and the Imagifer blisters (well and the bits, but all bits are going bye bye, at least for now). I hope this supports the idea that they are updating Inquisition and/or giving us some new metal and/or plastic kits.

6,723 bitz removed.

That's a lot. And that's too bad, all the good stuff is in the classic line.

All the new stuff is so vanilla, khaki, dull.

So, I'm a bit confused about this. How and what exactly are removed, the possibility of ordering the specific bits, or the entire models?

For instance, I'm planning on ordering some Tallarn Rough riders (http://uk.games-workshop.com/storefront/store.uk?do=Individual&code=99060105095&orignav=10, on the 'front page of the Imperial Guard list, not taken from 'Classics') Will items like these, which I imagine are sold as complete blisters, disappear? Or is it just the possibility of ordering the individual bits that make up the model (like http://uk.games-workshop.com/storefront/store.uk?do=Individual&code=9947010509501&orignav=301117 which is listed in the 'classics')

The thing is, these bits are not being permanently removed in many cases, just reorganized in some currently unknown way.

The point is, if you don't want to take any chances, then place your orders now. Otherwise we'll just have to wait and see what the new service turns out to be.

And so tomorrow I shall be going in to order a couple (or three) Iron Guts sprues so that I can continue with my plans to make almost an entire Ogre Kingdoms army out of two army box's.

But it's almost certain the bits will be cheaper after the reorganization. That's what they usually do, right?

Ok Stelek, that is a fair enough appraisal from somebody. I know it was just an analogy, I will just ad my 2cents.
FIRE SALE GOING CRAZY!!!!

I however, do not equate GW with a local furniture store. The fact that there is over 6000 items on the list beggars to ask" Why not reorganise/clean the house"?

It does look like there is a whole lotta stuff there that needs to go. Mind you, I wonder if KK & HBMC will be buying any Latd figs from them.........

god, who gives a F if they make more stuff unavailable to us.
after declaring 120 Latd models of mine useless, and all my kitted khorne aspiring champs, i really don't give a flying $^%& what they discontinue.

maybe i should melt the plastic down and sell it back to GW
eventually, with the complete annihilation of the ARMOURY section in each codex, we will have no need for bitz! what an exciting time for 40k this is!

I put in $600US worth of bitz orders when they announced this earlier in the year, picking up bitz I thought I would need (eventually).

The only bitz I really hope they don't eventually get rid on that are on the list are the metal SM shoulder pads.

I want to do BAs but won't until I can get a pile of the shoulder pads to do at least a company's worth. So that dream is on hold until they sort the bitz situation out.

It wouldn't surprise me if the two ork "bitz packs" up on GWs Advanced Order page are a glimpse of what's to come.

I actually placed my first bits order in YEARS this past week. Not for anything discontinued (I don't think), but just odds and ends I needed to finish some projects up.

Guinness: for those who are men of the cloth and football fans, but not necessarily in that order.

I think the lesson here is the best way to enjoy GW's games is to not use any of their rules.--Crimson Devil

Of course, an announcement like this certainly won't hurt the bottom line in the last month of the 4th quarter (well, if GW's fiscal year follows the calendar year)...

i.e., I just bought a LOT of bitz, so I wouldn't be caught short on many of my current, ongoing and planned projects.

Ouch!

It's too bad.

While I don't believe they'll nerf ALL of the bitz listed, I am sure that any that return to "GW's New and Improved (TM)" bitz service will be much more expensive.

I have a $140 order on hold until next payday (come on Friday!), which includes MANY Necromunda and Inquisitor bitz (which, IMO, will most certainly be gone after Jan 08).

I can't see the list either and would like to know if I have to put down $133.46 tomorrow or wait.

Well I placed a $165 order last Friday before the cutoff. However, GW has yet to ship it, nearly 4 business days later. So much for getting it "before Xmas".

Now I remember why I stopped direct ordering from them.

i looked around and didnt see this posted yet,, but in the new WD they have an article showing off the new catalogue.
They say it 416 pages (half the current ones size) and then they say that it will contain the full range painted (no greys). the bad news is it seems to not show any bits/spures what so ever though. So im wondering then is if they are going to do two catalogues (one full range and one "collectors or something range") cause the new will be $15usd.
oh they also said that they will package certain bits together for armies that they release (VC= Gothic bits pack include columns, candle and gargoyles bits.
again don't know if this is in the wrong place but thought it might be interesting

It will be easier for GW to manage while at the same time giving us either way fewer choices or up the cost to get multiples of a certain bit that is only found within a higher priced package deal.

Awesome.

At least the catalog is cheaper. It's too bad, though; the bitz service was one of the few things that distinguished Citadel from its competitors.

i am rather happy that the price is cheaper, but it seems a odd decision since the last included the classic range.
well heck maybe it was their way of showing it to everyone before they got rid of it.
who knows why GW does what they do.
