This is a space hulk marine. I had him painted as a plasma gunner, but I recently stripped him and want to make sure I made the right call.

looks to me like a marine from the "star Quest" boardgame, which would that weapon a so called black-hole-gun. well, at least in the german version of the game. and the marines are called Galaxy safe guard.

Better light would help, but the nose of the gun looks like the nozzle on one of the old flamers.

What you've got there is a Plasma gun from one of GWs first board games. Before GW was a big company they teamed up with Milton Bradly to make a range of board games. One of the first 40k themed ones was called "Space Crusade." Inside the box were little click-able assembly space marines and different weapons for them.

thanks, it definately clicks together. I'm sorry about the poor quality of light and resolution. I took it from my laptop's built in camera and I asked santa for Towels instead of a 5 megapixel camera.

DO you think I would be able to use this model in a GW store or tournament if I painted it up like a plasma gunner?

Ahh, the Space Crusade space marines, they brings back memories. I used to trade those from mates before I realised you could actually buy other ones from Games Workshop. Oh to be 12 again. lol. But yes, thats a plasma gun from the looks of it.

If they don't let you, I'd raise a ruckus. It's a GW-manufactured plasma gun whether they like it or not. Just make sure you paint it up appropriately!

Trust me, no matter what damage they have the potential to do, single-shot weapons always flatter to deceive in 40k.                                                                                                       Rule #1
