The Hammer

On the first list: Personally I consider a lascannon too many points for a weak target like a Sentinel - why not go Multi-laser and Drop Troops for nuisance value? Give the HQ a missile launcher or something if you want to compensate for the lost AT shot.

I am aware of an errata that upgrades DH Land Raiders to the same stats, abilities and starting vehicle upgrades as the Space Marine one. Because of this, you get PotMS for free and don't need the extra armour.

The other suggestion would be to get rid of the Chimeras for another Land Raider. Max out the high AV targets to increase your vehicles rate of survival, since anti-personel fire can take down a Chimera, this will stress your opponent's AT fire (if you don't constantly use the list and make everyone at the club meta against you ) and allow you to deny an even more potentially significant ammount of victory points.

On the second list, Iron Discipline wouldn't hurt for some redundancy in case one of the Wardens gets whacked. (I always think of Independent Commissars with Conscripts as Penal Battalions, somehow...their habit of executing their subordinates perhaps...) I don't recall the precise numbers, but I remember mathing out that for a basic 6-turn battle, a Trademark Item is a bad bargain versus the probable number of executed Conscripts. Instead, I'd vote for a flag. IG should have a flag - it's like 2 point trademark items. SS I am sure you will find is not particularly useful on line squads. You also need a second Command Squad to make the list legal. If you don't mind sacrificing the Commissars and relying strictly on your Command Squads with Iron Discipline to rally big fleeing Conscript Squads, you've got the points and play in your doctrine to grab Abhumans and Homo Sapiens Variatus for Furious Charge on the Conscripts. Beastmen are pretty good at headbutts apparently - nothing like S4 I5 on the assault for a list with not much choppy.

When soldiers think, it's called routing.

Wow an IG list for 1850 with less than 30 foot soldiers? Looks good on paper with the two LR's but you really aren't delivering anything meaningful into CC, so they are just expensive lascannon platforms that can't hold objectives.

Some nice theoryhammmer, don't think it will work with so many objective based missions out there.

I do like the idea

I heart SYR 8766

For all your bravado, if the US Army decided to invade, Wisconsin is it?, in force supported by a heavy bombing campaign for the month before, weeks of shelling from battleships on Lake Superior, and a full tank thrust (crushing the cows beneath the treads), I don't think that your .22 is going to make much of a difference really... Asmodai (my new hero)

At some point these sorts of decision-making skills lump you into the same camp as the Lehman Brothers, the White Star Line shipping company, and mothers who smoke during pregnancy.

Land raiders can hold objectives.

Also: I have no idea how to fit another land raider into this list.

Noooooo, Vanilla Space Marine land Raiders can hold objectives. No such rule exists for Daemon Hunter Land Raiders, Chaos Land Raiders, DA/BA Land Raiders, etc. In fact, for Black Templars, only Land Raider Crusaders can hold Objectives...................

You are only talking about taking one as a dedicated Transport correct? otherwise they should be able to hold objectives as they are a vehicle.

True negativemoney, sadly...none of the LR in this list are non-dedicated.

Only the FA and HS choice vehicles can contest.

Oooops. You are correct, my post refers to Land Raiders taken as dedicated transports.

Crap. If I took a land raider as a heavy support choice(if I even can, not looking at the book at this moment) Then I would have to drop a Leman Russ! :(

Sekai as the list stands it will be a tough bout for anyone. Ignoring the Land Raiders mean you will need to deal with 2 TL las cannons. and a TL heavy bolter coming up you flank blocking vial fire arcs and such, With 5 Armor 14 vehicles most opponents will be very short on weapons that can deal with them. Just focus on those weapons and your Russes now have free reign.

The only changes I would make (Hell I might just build this for kicks) would be to give the Sentinels Auto Cannons (Or even Heavy Flamers and Drop Troops) and bump one of the Russes to a Demolisher with Plas Cannons and a Heavy Bolter.

The only lists that I can see giving this army a real problem would be AC heavy marines and Dark Eldar. Though if the raiders go down quick enough you should be in the clear.

Can't do it anyways, DH/WH allies don't allow you to take Heavy Support
