Hello, hello, I'm new. I was first introduced to Warhammer 40k two years ago, when a friend gave me a Black Library book to read. Not knowing anything about it, I was immediately sucked in. Sadly, being at least an hour away from anywhere that even sells Warhammer items, it's been a slow growth. However, with age comes possibility and my book and other Warhammer collections have increased quite a bit in the past year. Now I'm looking into starting my own miniature army.

I'm debating between focusing on collecting Orks or IG. I fancy myself more toward the IG style of play, but the Orks are just too enticing and offer some fun challenges of their own. Hopefully I won't lose sleep over this.

Remember Ollanius! Never forget!

Trust me, no matter what damage they have the potential to do, single-shot weapons always flatter to deceive in 40k.                                                                                                       Rule #1

Welcome Brownie. Well my personal feeling is go with whichever models you like better, nothing makes painting less of a chore than enjoying the minis you are painting.
