Hi All;

Stupid question time.

When is the Reserves rule applied for the missions in the 4th Ed rulebook? Anytime (apart from Alpha level missions)? Only in the Escalation mission? When?

Thankyou for your help.

DF

Only in Omega standrad missions... but those aren't the only missions. Further back in the BGB (not the abridged Macragge version) are a number of other missions, some of which use Reserves.

As a rule of thumb, the designers do not hide "easter eggs" in the rules. If clever reading is required to unlock some sort of hidden option, then it is most likely the result of wishful thinking.

But there's no sense crying over every mistake;
You just keep on trying till you run out of cake.

Hi;

Thankyou very much for this. Where (what page) does it tell you this info? I have to ask, because the guy I play the most will want to see it 'in writing'. Sorry.

Thankyou again for the info so far though.

If a mission allows use of the Reserves rule, it will say so in the mission description, under rules.

Every mission says what special rules apply in it. In the basic missions in the rulebook, all of the missions have standardized special rules depending on whether you're playing the mission at Alpha level, Gamma level, or Omega level. Alpha has none. Gamma has some. And Omega has more, including Escalation.

This question is easily answered if you just read the darn book.

I have read the darn book, and I still could not work out the ruling. Hence the reason I chose to come here and ask. Next time I'll go elsewhere. Sorry to waste your time, it won't happen again.

I apologize for the attitude. I was in a poor mood when I made the post. I should have just ditto'd Lord Sutekh's comments.

Personally I was appalled by the harsh language. The d-word has no place in civilized dialogue.
