I received 40$ in itunes certificates for xmas and I was wondering if itunes has any good audiobooks.
I prefer sci fi but I like most anything

There's some classics on there if that's your thing- Old Man and the Sea, Moby Dick. Hitchhiker's guide to the Galaxy, some Neil Gaiman (unfortunately no American Gods).

I haven't used it much but was browsing the other day myself.

On a delicate chain at her throat, she keeps it with her to this day.”

I love audio books but I haven't had Itunes on my
computer in since forever. What's their pricing scheme
on audio books these days?

Right now I have a monthly subscription for audible, and
I'm not sure if that's the best deal or not.

The books are priced by length I believe. Books by more wellknown authors are slightly more expensive. As far as I can tell

My advice is to go for the unabridged books. I got the abridged World War Z, and while good, made me feel like I missed out (and after reading the book, I realized I did; excellent production values though).

I've gotten Snowcrash and the Diamond Age by Neal Stephenson, and both were good if a bit on the low sound quality side. I just finished The Speaker For the Dead by Orson Scott Card and the variety of narrators kind of threw me off, but it wasn't terrible. I'm part way through Xenocide and the same thing can be said for that.

Trust me, no matter what damage they have the potential to do, single-shot weapons always flatter to deceive in 40k.                                                                                                       Rule #1

The Frank McCourt books were really good, probably
because he narrates them. Stephen King also tends to
get good narrators because of his recognizability.

Be careful with science fiction and fantasy. Sometimes
they get these awful narrators who pull you out of the
book.

Well I listen to the previews of books that sound interesting, sso I hopefully won't have a problem with narrators.
