Attempted to make a balanced list that is ready to take anything, had some leftover points so I just threw in the mask, chainsword, and surprise assault, what do you guys think?

I know eldrad is a bit much for a 1500, but my farseers have been taken by the warp far too many times =(

SS is a waste on Vypers. They'll rarely get to use them.

Unless your only opponents are guard and tau, that autarch is limp as it gets. I'd advise just dropping him altogether. If you also drop a guardian squad, you can get a sizeable harlequin squad for some much needed counter assault.

Additionally, your army's only real anti tank is the prisms, which are not hard to render incapable of shooting. I'd swap a prism, for a falcon, and take some dragons as well. While that seems counter intuitive --dropping AT for other AT-- the dragons are much more reliable.

Without Mobility in this list you will get overrun fairly quickly. Not really sure what can fix it without a major redo. I would keep the Avengers, Drop both units of guardian in favor of Jet Bikes. Drop the Viper and scrounge up some points to make the Avengers a little more mobile.

I am kind of confused, I thought a lot of people used autarchs on jetbikes for tank hunting?

I never have problems getting in range of 24" of anything....even eldrad using doom in a building in the back of the battlefield....I doubt a moving skimmer will have problems with that, yes I know I will be closer to the enemy, but would scatter lasers make that big a difference? what gun doesn't have 36" range that I would have to worry about ...all that comes to mind are plasmaguns....and demolisher cannons lol

Autarch has grenades and initiative one billion, why give him a banshee mask? Take it away and his chainsword and then drop your warpspider exarch and all his overpriced mostly useless gear, so you can get your autarch a proper kit. he is fine as a tank hunter, but he needs a lance on his jetbike!

Do not buy spirit stones on a vyper.

Delete the dork reapers and a wraithlord with EML/Brightlance. Much better purchase for the points.

Use leftover points to put shuriken cannons on your fire prisms so they're still a threat after they lose their gun (and they will lose it).

Then I think you're looking OK. Not great but it'll win games here and there

well, um, heres my reasoning for the banshee mask:

you see theres this thing called a point limit, and once I had everything I wanted, I was 3 points under the "point limit".....well since I did not want to be at a 3 point disadvantage, I added in something, the "only" thing I could add in without messing up everything else (I always switch the upgrades around seeing which setup I like most) and seeing I had things the way I wanted and did not want to mess up everything else....well, what do you know? I added in the banshee mask.


sorry for my rambling but anyway: can someone show me a proper set up for a lone vyper? and a squad? I am not quite sure what they should be doing

dropping the reapers considered, but I love them dearly...

oh yeah and whats not to like about the warp spider exarch, for a measly amount of points you get a spider with +1 WS, + 1 BS, +1 A, and +1 INI....and instead of spending the points on another spider, you get his 2 shots anyway, and you get them at BS 5, minus the wound of course

I run 2 squads of dire avengers in my list and i have found the shimmer shield and the defend ability to come in handy more often than dual shuriken catapults.

What everyone is saying about the autarch is that if your going to run him on a jetbike, you probably want the lance..

yeah I didn't look at the codex and didn't realize the lance was a 1-handed weapon upgrade, I switched a lot of stuff in the list though, no autarch at all now

The DAs are fairly expensive and the Serpent is fairly fragile. I think you definitely need VE if you're going to run them this way.

I don't see them accomplishing much. They're meant for assault and they're the slowest unit in your army (other than the DRs, which won't be moving)? Something's not right. If you're fielding this unit, I'd swap the Prism for a Falcon (the Prism kit gives you the parts for a Falcon, so a little magnetisation should allow you change freely between games).
