One chaos chosen marine can be upgraded to an aspiring champ but there's no wargear options for him.
Can he therefore take the options open to 'any marine' afterwards? So he counts as one of the 4 or 5 special weapon troopers?
In theory can I give him a heavy weapon then (not that I'd want to).
Just checking.

Thanks.
So 4 meltas and a champ with lightning claws sound good to everyone?

Yes, that's fine. I go with 3 lightning claws, 1 meltagun and a champ with a powerfist Nice stuff, though such a shame they're all 1 attack each ><

Don't pairs of lightning claws still give you +1A?

I'm building a squad of two meltas and two flamers myself. Four melta guns just seems like overkill (sweet sweet overkill) and there's plenty of Orks running around these days and the flexibility means they don't need so much support when they're off infiltratin'.

There is no armory. Upgrades are listed as part of the unit entry.
