For the life of me, I cannot find much to improve on the AT-43 vehicle as far as repaints, so minor modifications are in order I suppose.

Here is my first attempt at modifying AT-43 models. Its just a simple freehand Cyrillic lettering "Kозни" (transliterated "Kozni" meaning "Machination") to designate Sgt. Tymofiyeva's personal Nakovalny strider, so that it is known where the Sgt's strider is amongst the unit of 4 nakovalnys.

I tried to make it look like she quickly and sloppily painted it herself, with a little bit of paint dripping down the letters.

Its a simple and quite mundane thing, but I will take any opportunity I can to promote this great game.

I think I will next try to add some bits here and there to represent her "disruption" and "interference" abilities on the battlefield. Not sure how exactly, but I would like to make this model stand out more than just simple free hand Cyrillic.

(for those of you who dont play AT-43 *shame on you*, the Disruption and Interference abilities basically partially disable the enemies leadership and allow you to see a minor part of the enemies strategy)

Perhaps some Propaganda loudspeakers...or something. *shrug*

Any ideas?

Whip ariels? You should do something with the bases, a good base can transform a model. Crumpled railway lines and sleepers covers in snow perhaps?

Thanks largely in part to the promotion of the game I've seen here on Dakka, I'm REALLY looking to get into it. Even if I end up repainting the entirety of the models, they're great looking pieces with lots of character.

I like the simple paint modification you've gone with here.

Not to hijack your thread but I thought folks might like to see a complete repaint of an AT-43 vehicle. This is from Cry Havoc the newsletter for Rackham. They are very paintable from what I've seen so far. So if you have the time/knowledge/skill to upgrade the look of your troopers, it's totally possible. If not, as we can see here, they already look really great out of the box.

Yes, they do repaint very well. I repainted the Sgt. Timofiyeva model last night (no pics for her as my camera is shoddy and taking good close up, its macro setting sucks butt) and I am overwhelmingly pleased with the results.

It wasnt a complete repaint either, just making the flesh and hair more realistic, touching up some places that might have had imperfections, detailing the highlighting, etc.

The grunt work of block painting is already done. Much as when a master comes into the shop and takes over after the journeyman has completed his part of the job.

Yeah, the (limited) ink work on the models seems half
buggered to begin with (not yours, but AT-43 in general).

Wow. Looks good. I'm really liking the Red Block. I have their armybook but, I'm waiting to see what happens with the company before I get any further into AT-43.

Awesome minis, Hellfury!

I confess I know next to nothing about At43 (just not appealing to me) so forgive me if these are stupid questions but: What set is this from and how much did it cost? Also, are they hard plastic or that semibendable junk like Clix minis?

I'm intrigued because these would seem to be excellent Sentinel proxies for my Arbites force.

It doesnt come from a set, persay. unlike blind buy CMG's.

It is called "Nakovalny" and it is a Red Blok AT-43 model. It costs $30 retail USD.

They are hard plastic, no crappy clix plastic here. Completely prepainted.

These are almost exactly the same height as an IG plastic sentinel.

The really cool part, is that there are 4 different walkers for these models in the Red Blok faction so far.

Not so darling looking, but it definitely reflects russian idea of pragmatism over form. Tough and lethal.

Yellow has a unique quality (for any paint manufacturer) to be inherently crappy.

That said, it takes several coats (about 3-4) to make it even resemble solid.

The streaks were simply a one coat deal, slightly watered down.
