The new venure with Jason and Rob went off despite the snow storm here in Charlotte. I was run really well and we had a good turnout despite the weather. I was disappointing not having the Atlanta guys there because of the points, we played 1500 pts. I used the same list that I had at mace.

Rd 1 Necrons
The senerio was not working for me at all. The game was fun to play against Adam which was a nice change. We just got 6 rounds in. I made a couple of mistakes on assaults in the beginning but pulled it off in the end

Rd 2 Nids
I hate bugs, they give my list fits. The only loses that I have had with my army in tournaments have been with Nids. This time I tried another tactic and it worked fine. I will have to see if it works with larger points. Chris was new and I never played him before. He was one of the Above board guys and was really nice. I won the mission and got max points. This would set me up for the final match against Griz.

Rd 3 Blood Angels
This would be the first place battle. If I win the battle I win the tournament, if he wins, he wins the tournament. There in no best general so this will be it. We dance around the whole time. There are no VP we have to kill each others HQ to try and get max points. I get his in turn 6 but overcommit with my HQ and mine also dies in turn 6. So in the end we tie in points but I have a lot more of the painting scores because his is neither painted or based. Now Griz has had this army for over 5 years so I don't feel sorry for him.

Overall the tournament was great. The trophies that they made were AWESOME. I almost want to start an ork army with the trophy top! The next one will be on March 1st so we will be going there instead of Atlanta. We had two new fencing guys go to the tournament. Gabe did well with his army, now we just need to get it all painted!

Next stop will be in TN. The list will be new and different. I really love the zealots, I am dropping one of the SM squads to bring in another unit and this time we will see the return of the DC assassins, I love them soooooo!!!

Sorry we couldn't make it down there. Glad to hear that the tourney was a good one!

All in all, fact is that Warhammer 40K has never been as balanced as it is now, and codex releases have never been as interesting as they are now (new units and vehicles and tons of new special rules/strategies each release -- not just the same old crap with a few changes in statlines and points costs).
