Okay, so I said I'd paint up a load of old marines, so I said I'd get my old orks back on track, so I said I was going to make a Stealer Cult, well...

So what? I did really like all those ideas I had, but I've made a decision, I'll do them later. First I'm going to do my Nids.

So I'll take a few snaps of what I'm currently working with, and outline my future plans for Hive Fleet Abominor.

First up, the Stealers: I have 4 left over from my old BfM box set. I also have a full complement of 12 classics Stealers, one of which was used to test the old scheme, I'll get round to stripping him at some point.

Above: The one member of the 4 surviving Battle for Macragge Stealers that is currently being converted to a Broodlord. I've got the new limbs sorted, I just need to buy some GS so I can bulk up his legs and torso, his legs also need re-positioning.

Above are the 12 old Stealers, you can clearly see the poorly painted purple and blue one.

Next up are my 3 Ripper Swarms, taken from the handful of Nid sprues I could find lurking in my cupboard.

And lastly, individual shots of my 6 warriors.

Just for fun, Guardsman Hicks, survivor of the Acheron massacre, hunter of Tyranids, and wielder of a bolter that is far too big for him.

Please keep in mind all of these are still in need of extensive filing and modelling. I've only assembled them straight from the sprues.

In terms of what I hope the fleet will look like in future, I'm being very un-original and stealing the idea of another Nid player. Yes, they will be Alienids!

To be fair, I had the idea way before I'd seen Tim's stuff, but his were what really got me to thinking that I should do it too. So eventually they will all look like little plastic recreations of Giger's creation. I'll post up fluff for the army with the next update, which will be when I can get some GS and start resculpting those heads!

Cool Models.
But you should remove the mold-lines.

Did you read my message or just look at the pictures?

I said the models need filing and more modelling work.

Michael Bien guardsmen all benefit from T5 and FNP, so the bolter should be alright.

I like the look of the warriors in general. Do they have monstrous creature size weapons? I'm thinking about the one with dual sytals.

Nonsense. The Battle Company box is perfect for filling out your ranks of aspect warriors with a large contingent from the Screaming Baldies shrine.

I always like to see more bugs, but I've got to pipe in and say that I hate the giant monkey arms on your warriors. I know its personal taste but the rending claws on the Warrior sprue are just too big IMHO.

And using those large Scything Talons? Looks ridiculous to me.

I used the Lictor Rending Claw arms for my warriors:

I know its personal preference, but I couldn't help but chime in!

I respect your opinions and I agree with them to some extent. While the rending claws don't bother me too much, I really hate the warrior with the giant scything talons, I assembled him some time ago, but he's done with plastic glue so I will risk major damage to the model if I remove them.

I agree with yak 100%. It's just a pity that the standard options look so awful; the gamer ends up with strange-looking minis through no fault of his/her own.

Well I finally got off my lazy posterior and made my way to the local GW store where I picked up some new superglue, as somebody's nicked my other pot, and some greenstuff. New pics of the converted 'Nids will be coming soon!

If you have any tips or any questions, please feel free to say them here.
