Seems odd that this has been missed out here. The best news out there, too bad we didn't get to see the plastic warriors (or wyches)...

I'm linking this from GeOrc's website, I hope he/she doesn't mind.

Anyway, here's the
Warseer link too.

I fixed your typo.

I can't think of an army I'd less want to see come back. Especially with Lost and Damned and kroot both dead.

Anyway google images says 'Vidente Eldar' are warlocks.

Hey the right one is doing the Isabella von Carstein finish move!

Seriously, I love to see some dark eldar minis, and these look pretty decent. I hope GW produces some cool plastic models so that I can convert the hell out of my "dark-but-not-as-fd-up-than-the-dark-eldar-eldar"-army.

I, for one, am thrilled about this. Dark Eldar were my favorite army when I restarted playing 40k back in '99, and even though I had to sell that army off to make rent one month, I still really like them. I'm waiting for the new codex, but it's nice to see something new for them.

Trust me, no matter what damage they have the potential to do, single-shot weapons always flatter to deceive in 40k.                                                                                                       Rule #1

I wonder if it's this previously unreleased model ?

Seems a bit strange that they'd be releasing that mini after all this time, but the feet do seem to be an exact match, don't they? Nice find.

I wonder if this perhaps is going to be one of the direct only models they're going to do ?

That and the new Leonatus (sp? BA guy from the comic) that was there too.

As pointed out on Warseer, both Leonatos and that Farseer are actually fairly old, unreleased sculpts, so there is nothting to suggest these haemonculi are intended for production anytime soon, or indeed, ever.

I'd hold off on opening that champaigne just yet.

The supply does not get to make the demands.

Considering that the haemonculi are greens and the farseer is solid metal, I down that bottle.

I suppose direct order, too. And the Dark Eldar codex is for more likely than another eldar one.

Leonatos was there as both green and metal, mind you. And behind him, what looked like a Chameleon Skink green.

Seeing the Leonatos miniature leaves no wonder as to why it was never released

I think it's great news for the Dark Eldar - they hadn't had any new miniatures for ages. Probably GW's trying to see how much the prospect of new stuff for the DE would stir up the players. It could be that they're waiting for positive feedback in order to give DE the green light.

Then again, it's GW. The board'll probably decide this on a coin toss.

I think we'd need a sharper pic of those DE to tell it for sure, and another angle.

Though, from what I've been reading, it seems that these minis are all from the "Juan Diaz" section. The Haemonculi are unreleased models, probably (I didn't say it...) meant for some GW catalog.

Anyway, Brimstone hinted at some happy surprises for the DE. And he's quite reliable...

Isn't that the Necromunda Farseer that was sold via Specialist Games?

I beg to differ. I think we'll see an Eldar Codex in 2009, before GW touches the Dark Eldar. GW will do another Farseer, yet another Warlock, and convert the Fire Prism and Wraithguard to plastic, while giving us the new Jetbikes that they previewed.

As I noted elsewhere, Dark Eldar aren't going to get anything until GW can redo them entirely from scratch - it just doesn't make any financial sense to do this. Sad, but true.

Aye, but I gotta wonder how much wishful thinking is embedded in those hints. Every year, we see hints and rumors, but we never see a release date or model line. Still, these Haemonculi are more than we've seen in years. Show a handful more models, and I might start to believe something's happening here.

Those don't look like unreleased models, their style is a lot different than the current Haemonculi.

John, I'm gonna have to say that you were looking for some proof Dark Eldar weren't getting dropped, this is pretty close..

ok i suck at fluff and all but i thought the Hemonculi had super destructor rays and such. why are these looking more like dark elves with a sword and someones skull and neck.
i dunno but i thought that was a bit odd.

There's nothing to hint at why those models were chosen to be in that cabinet. If the purpose was indeed to showcase Diaz's work, then they could've easily simply selected some personal favorites of his, which could include models they have no intention ever to mass-produce. There isn't any room for wishful thinking here, I'd say.

Except then we know that Diaz is sculpting new Dark Eldar models. The fact that new Dark Eldar models are being sculpted at all means that work is being done on them.

I was hoping to have all the DE miniatures from Jes' blessed hand.

Still... compared to Leonatos, the Farseer etc, these are much more recent, and the fact that they don't quite fit in the older Haemonculi...

But, like John, I don't want to stretch it only to be disappointed. It could really be nothing at all. If we saw, say, some Warrior plastics, then we'd be talking business for sure.

As for making them from ground zero... I think they had that kind of experience not so long ago with the Wood Elves, and I'm guessing it paid off. At least I've never heard of it being negative to GW's economics.
