i'd beef the chaos warriors up to 24, and take marauder cav instead of the warhounds/furries.

also at 2250 i dunno bout the dragon, but if you really want to take it then sure. instead i'd add another sorceror, and make the other champion a BSB

He's pretty set out the dragon... and his plan for the furries is to flank charge whatever unit the dragon charges. As for the chaos warriors being 24.... we didn't beef up their numbers for 2 reasons 1) there's no room, and 2) We think the enemy will be focused on killing the knights and the dragon

A problem with this sort of list is that the guys are all over the place in the battlefield. As your knights and dragon (+the cheap stuff) charges in, the infantry boxes will be left behind and can't participate in combat. Small issue is also that the foot marauders in particular will be left withouth the general's leadership. Basically what I'm saying that keep things fast with the dragon.

If you're running vanilla (undivided) dragon lord, it's also a good idea to invest heavily into warmachine hunting so take some additional warmachine hunters such as screamers and marauder horsemen. 14 Furies is also too large unit size. You'll lose a lot of points if you fail that ld6 "poof"-check if you happen to be outside general's ld radius and lose combat.

Lose the chaos warriors.

Most elite infantry in the game is crap. Chaos warriors are the crappiest of the crappy.

If you really want to use chaos warriors, take a unit of 12 (7 in the front, 5 in the back) khorne chosen warriors with two hand weapons. 28 attacks is hard to argue with.

But 20 plain warriors can't even be sure to consistently break goblins.

@ Chaos Lord
I think his basic strategy will be either a denied flank or a pincer move. He plans on keeping the furies with the dragon, that way he can flank charge with them while the dragon charges the same unit and autobreak it due to outnumbering of a fear causing unit. Then the chaos hounds stick infront of the chosen knights to keep them from frenzying all over the place. He wanted a large unit of furies to make sure that if he failed a leadership, he'd still have some left alive... although when you think about it... it'd be better to have two units... that way you can only ever lose half the total models. He'll have some issues against war machines.... but too much, after all he can always hit them with the dragon and the furies.

@ Mauleed
I was hoping you'd respond mauleed. He's concerned with numbers in his army... right now he sits at about 96 models..... but I may just have to convince him to swap out the chaos warriors for your suggestion of 12 chosen khorne warriors. I'll agree with you every time that chaos warriors are a waste of points, but they're one of those things that he "had" to have in the list.

warriors of chaos are not crap, sure they aren't amazing, but with MoK or chosen they do alright, and they're better than any other block troop (minus saurus) for the points.

also you cannot take two units of furries, just one per army.

They are crap. Nearly every other block troop is better for the points.

Do the math on an ork, goblin, or human swordsman vs. anything but khornate chosen with extra hand weapons and then say that again.

i'm sayin take MoK or chosen, not both. anyway a good general can do amazing things with any troops he has. just think that warriors of chaos should be given a little more credit than your giving them

Unfortunately I have to agree with Mauleed here. They are just too expensive and easy to avoid. The previous issues combined with the fact that they don't have any nifty special rules which would seriously boost their ability to work as an anvil (barring rapturous standard) makes me a sad panda. Hopefully at the end of the year when new hordes book emerges things will change but who knows...
