Just getting back in WFB after loooong absence, why does everyone take wyrdstone instead of spangleshard

First list was my first list after reading through the book once, second list is after I read some strategy on here and read the book more. In the second list i figure to use the bulls and the belchers to flee and rally to set up charges with the guts.

If you're just coming back, I'd avoid Skragg. His army style is very different, and while it's nice to see a Slaughtermaster in the list at 2k, he's best utilized with a lot of Gorgers.

The only other things in the list are more based on what you like than what advice I can give you. I prefer my Iron Guts in units of 3, not 4, since I like having the extra unit with the same # of models, and I put Bellowers in mine, but that's not always necessary for success for everyone.

And you really should take the individual point costs off the post.

I prefer ironguts in units of 4 for max damage
Also, combat units need a standard and pretty much everyone needs a musician (bellower).

The scrag list needs another butcher. Remember, scrag can only cast each spell once so if you really want trollguts you need to be able to recast with a second butcher.

I said this on another post on here and ill sya it again. I think maneaters are better then gorgers in 90% of cercumstances (unless you use skragg, where you can get BOTH!) Maneaters are more reliable, hardly ever run away, can have good armour, have STRENGTH 7! with three attacks! Great choice. I usually take me over an other rare choice (unless i take a giantbreaker tyrant, where i need a slave giant....)
