I dont even know where to start over the years I've played 40k orks just about any build you can think of. In fact I just played 5000 pnts over the week end, in this time I've collected tons of fantasy models... but have no idea whats good bad or indifferent should I just throw togther 1500 of what i like the looks of and call it good or should there be a method to my madness? looking over the dex the only thing i dont have is spider goblins...so any help on an O&G list would be most appreciated. Is a hoard of goblins good? should I put in all 38 wolf riders? how should i build stuff? should i include a musician and bosspole in every unit? why? can you tell i'm lost?

Hmm... seems like the 40k players are a little more helpfull, 20 views and not a single reply.... maybe I should just stick with 40k then. In the off cance that there are cool Warhammer players out there a 1500 O&G list is what is needed.

Ok well I'm not totaly helpless... I've looked at every O&G list for the past five pages and have learned that most people include a black warboss on boar and 4 spear chuckas, how dose the wyvern compare to a boar? (becouse i like the modle better) also I have some doom divers and an old doom diver catipult...seems like people like those. Got two giants is that too many for 1500 pnts? looks like most of my boys have two weapons... is that the best build or is a shield and choppa better?

Well, firstly the obvious things: You should get the O&G armybook and the basic WHFB rulebook if you haven't got those yet.
Then you should read those through at least once (the rules parts at least  )
After that you should have some basic understanding what troops can do what and such.
For starters you need a character to be your general and a couple of troop choices (O&G have plenty of options for both). The base line of most orc&goblin armies consist of multiple large infantry units lead by a fighty character (with his battle standard bearer friend), and in addition they have some fast cavalry, magic and warmachine support. The latter may include both shooting thingies and chariots. You can't go terribly wrong if you aim for 1500 pts with the following: 1) Some fighty orc char to be the general, preferably riding a boar. 2) Two mages of some sort (with level upgrades) to handle magic offense/defense. 3) 3+ Blocks of fighty infantry. Basic orcs are good for this. Goblins are cheaper but they have ld issues and are whimsier. Aim for 20+ unit sizes nevertheless (and do get banners and musicians for these). 4) Get at least couple units of fast cav (either wolves or spideys), they are fast and can flank stuff or can go harassing opposing warmachines and such. 5) Get a couple of warmachines to shoot opposing tough stuff. Pair of spear chukkas and a doom diver is a good selection for example. Add a chariot or 2 and you should be nearing the 1500 limit. Post a example list when you're done and we can offer more insight.

You really need to look at the O&G army book and get a feel for what's what. A 1500 point game used to be standard for 40K, but fantasy considers 2000 points to be about the right number for a basic game.
Your army selection is limited by the number of points. For example, in anything under 2000 pts, you cannot take a Lord-level hero, which in turn means you can't have a wyvern, as they are mounts only for lord-level heroes.
Your army must include a minimum number of core units, and can field up to a maximum of special and rare.
Giants are a rare choice, and you don't get more than one rare choice until you hit 2000 points... no 2-giant army for you, my lad. Doom Divers are rare as well, so you are going to be fielding either/or at 1500. At 1500, you're looking at 2 mandatory core units, up to 3 special units, and up to 1 rare unit.
Now, in smaller games, certain things have are magnified. Shooting, for example, can be much more effective in smaller games. 10 Arrer Boyz will proably kill about the same number of models every turn whether they are shooting at a small army or a big army... but it will hurt the small army a lot more. Likewise magic- you have fewer dice to cast with, and you may not get a spell off all game. On the other hand, if you do get a spell off, it can cause major pain to your opponent.
Chariots and fast cavalry are game-winners, too, the former because they can really dish out the pain and the latter because they can give you control of the movement phase.

Here you go. It's a big smashy list, no magic, but then with orcs, your own magic can be more dangerous to you than the enemy. The Mork's Spirit Totem gives you up to +3 Dispel Dice, so you'll have 5, which is plenty at 1500 points. You also have two Big Smashy orc chariots with characters in them, one that can have a possible 6+ attacks on the charge, the other with a standard 5, and because they're black orcs, they get to waagh! when you declare the waagh!, even tho they're in chariots! The Goblin Wolf Riders harass the enemies flanks, shoot up war machines, march block.... lots of fun stuff. 1 unit of 24 orcs that the battle standard joins and 2 units of 25 orcs, all with 2 choppas, that way you're dishing out 11 Str 4 Attacks on the charge. (Also, because I couldn't make a 4+ armor save (which was always modified to a 6+) to save my (models) life). Then four spear chukkas to try to whittle down the opponent before they get to you, and to try to character snipe. Then, one unit of 6 savage orc boar boys. Why? Because on the charge they dish out 12 STR 4 attacks from the boys, and 12 STR 5 attacks from the boars.....= a lot of dead models. Any combat after the charge, they're still dishing out 24 str 3 attacks.... and they have a 4+ armor save with a 6+ ward save.... not too shabby

Ok so I tried a list agianst and experenst dwarf player with two shamans and did not get a spell off all game I've modified my list as follows: please critique it as this is my first real list please be brutal I'm joining a league with around 25 people 1/2 of witch know what the hell there doing...

well I'm bulding the army I've got the Morks Sprit-totem banner done and 2 blocks of boys standing together...working on the third block right now glad everyone likes my list, I'll be done with it today if there are any comments before I get it all assembled that would be helpfull and I'd apprecate it.

Comments..... the biting blade sucks... give your general something else. Also, one level 2 shaman will never get a spell off.... replace him with a chariot or another big boss... Goblin mods also just get in the way.... replace them with one unit of wolf riders and 2 more spear chukkas

Good advice thanks, As for getting rid of the goblins I like the models way to much to do so....I'm using 1980 orks as goblins and I realy like the look lol. I'd concider maybe droping one. As for the shaman is it realy a 0% chance to get a spell off? becouse if so I will but being a long time 40k player I like the idea of spells.....

There's a 1 in 18 chance of you getting a spell off (irresistable force is really the only way, or, your opponent rolling double 1's in an attempt to dispel it). That means 1 time in in 18 rounds of casting.... you have 6 rounds a game, that's 1 chance in every 3 games. So for one magic phase out of every 3 games you play in, your level 2 wizard will be able to do something..... the other 17 turns, he'll be a complete waste of 100 points.

And it's agiast the rules.....just tried puting it in army builder and theres 4 special units takin...danm i liked the looks of it too....changes had to drop the ork boar chariot and the goblin unit got upgraded to night goblins with all the perks nets 1 fanatic ect.

@ Angron, I think I've found a list I'm comfterble with and it's preaty close to the one you suggested, the only real diffrence I see is i put my general in the footslogging boyz for a leadership boost.... and kept a piar of wolf riding units.

good list but i think you might need some orc cavalry they are hard core and can take down loads of stuff, stick a savage orc boss with it and see wat they can do. they will attract alot of fire so it will make your other troops survive longer to get into combat

Personally, I've found boars to be a great deal better than chariots simply because the latter is so unwieldy. This is doubly true if you are an inexperienced player. However, it really just depends on how you want to play your army. Boar Boyz are better when used with aggressive tactics as they are tougher and more expensive; while chariots are much more useful as counter-charge units supporting infantry blocks.
Edit: Looking at your list again it seems you want to focus on your infantry. To that end I would suggest dropping the extra big boss in chariot and either picking up more wolf riders (for movement control and cannon smashing) or more chariots/boar boyz for flanking.
