I don't know. I think Creepers are necessary. I play a little on a modded server where Creepers have been set to not do block damage, and it's just... missing something.

That little bit of danger, that chance that something you built might be blown up, I think adds to the experience.

what's really aggravating is as you're building a gatehouse with a working portcullis and a creeper jumps into the redstone and blows it up.

No that's coming one block short on a project of a rare resource and having to trek for ages to gather more.

That's agruvating because you will Always see that one block.

that's my usual Tuesday First it was lack of iron, then lack of coal, then lack of lightning, then lack of sand, and next will be lack of coral.

the absolute worst thing is after your project is done you realize it's off center and are left with the choice of leaving it, or rebuilding it. Drives me up the wall every time it happens

Something's odd about the iron farm at spawn. The west villager pen is empty and there are dozens of villagers on the roof. Unless it's supposed to be like that.

Oh man. That's like so annoying...

I have a great Hall on another server, 120 blocks long. 40 wide.

One section is one block out on lengh, and I'm 2 blocks too far one way on the pedestal foundations.

It took a year to build, a few more months on and off to do finishing, floors, roof work and glass.

And now I relised I'm out on the pedi stool....

....

Hmm... Is the iron farm still working though?

Could just be a spawning bug or one of the pens took a lightening strike.?

Spawn been hit, there was the whole massacre of the villager hall after the roof was set on fire.

Yeah, probably lightning, it's happened in the past where a pen of 4 villagers gets turned into witches by lightning then despawn. The iron farm still works so maybe it's not a problem but I wouldn't know.

Seems most likely. I've seen very few natural mob spawns in spawn bar the walls on upper section I patched up and reinforced to prevent wanderers.

The odd seige by villager hall and when the villager hall nearly burned down.

Lighting seems to be the most likely answer.

Would it work adding a glass roof maybe, raised above so still open air?

Just now protected by clear glass.?

The villagers on top are fine, the non farmers will need to be culled soon though. If anyone is bored and wants to drop 4 non farmers down into the empty pen, that would be great, and it would also slow down the breeding.

The farm rows just needs to be reworked at some point, the babies are to fast and will skip across the spaces. The last time I culled them the outer 2 rows were empty of villagers.

You'd think so, but the villagers find potatoes an aphrodisiac so they rarely find their way down to the storage room.

Where this new track go to?

I know the Nether has a lot of tracks set up and there's a northern surface line out to ULM and a small port.

And the main biome line/surface sub ways.

So I had a weird thing happen to me.
I logged out in the nether stood by me nether portal and when I logged back in I was underground and suffocating. Anyway, thanks to the guild armour and Ralphy's god tools I managed to dig my way out.
It seems I was glitched to a location underground, at the point where the sandstone layer meets the rock layer, at a point just behind the Minion near the spawn arena. Theres a giant netherwrack 'X' there to mark the spot.

Any idea why it happened?

Happened to me years ago, somewhere near the middle of the red clay path in the desert. Didn't have the armour and slow internet slowed me down so I didn't survive the experience. Hasn't happened since so I'm not concerned.

It's a fun bug, when you go through a nether portal there's a chance it will keep your cords and not divide/multiply by 8. so if your portal is in the nether at 50, 50, 10 you would appear in the over world at 50, 50, 10 without needing a connecting portal or proper spacing for steve. of course that's not nearly as fun as going through at -2000 in the overworld and being dumped at -2000 in the nether in the middle of a lava lake

The shorter version of the bug is when you'll be sent to the false cords for a second before it corrects for the proper portal and that's why my wife used to burst into flames as she used her portal.

The only way to stop it is to travel the nether to the overworld coords and build a safe room.

Seeing how far south you are, that should be a really fun trip

Maybe you could try making some test portals nearby and seeing if they still burn before traveling 8 times as far away from spawn than you already are through the Nether.

Gah. That sounds no fun. It exits on a safe area underground already... How much safer can it be?

Maybe if I move the partal in over wold it might change things.
Thetes no other nearby portals for at least 2-3km. Over worold.

The only other idea is to make up a batch of fire res potions?

We have a single stable on the other side of portal for horses so ones arriving do not get cooked... I may have to add more.

Well, your overworld portal has a Y altitude of 31 (assuming its the one with the gold horse nearby, Sigismund or some such), which is the same height as the lava ocean in the Nether so maybe you just need to raise your overworld portal by a single block, maybe two in case gravity gives you a quick dip in the lava. I know portals generally don't care about altitude but it's a bug so who knows?
