I decided to start another thread because this is not "Apoctolyptic". I decided to call it "Stuff made from junk" because my reoccuring theme is to take trash and turn it into cool stuff!

The old Feral Orks list had a unit called Junkka Trukk so I'm going to dubb everything I put here Junkka this Junkka that.

We'll start off by making a Junkka Dred...

I thought a C sized battery would work as a "body" and the CCW will be made of stuff. These are all very orky teknikal terms!

I'll be very interested in seeing where this goes. Nothing wrong with recycling all those dead batteries that end up just leaching chemicals into landfills...

Yeah, I was going to say that you're a braver man than I, Gunga Din, for using dead batteries in a conversion. Maybe I'm just paranoid though.

Actually, the battery companies have reformulated the contents of disposable batteries like these so that they can be disposed of in landfills without special treatment. Doesn't mean the innards aren't still nasty and toxic, they're just not considered hazardous materials anymore.

Man, I wish there was a real Black Library where I could get a Black Library Card and take out Black Library Books without having to buy them. Of course, late fees would be your soul. But it would be worth it. - InquisitorMack

Thought about that But figured if I give it an extra couple of clear coats it should seal it.....right?

I don't know - I mean, the stuff inside is corrosive - it might just eat through the clear coat. <shrug> To be safe, you might be better off using a camera film cannister...

Yeah, using batteries is just asking for it. Plus, they're rather heavy, aren't they? You'll need some pretty sturdy legs.

Wehrkind wrote:Sounds like a lot, but with a little practice I can do ~7-8 girls in 2-3 hours. Probably less if the cat and wife didn't want attention in that time.

Yes, back in the good old days when our motto was "Antiquis temporibus, nati tibi similes in rupibus ventosissimis exponebantur ad necem."

I would second the film canister idea. With one of those, you could even have a little grot or snotling driver inside.

Batteries....yeah. Battery acid is going to make this project in its current form not worth the effort.

Film canisters must have been from the days when Pluto was a planet huh?

Sorry, HAD to get one more in there...

Kudos for at least trying to recycle the battery though. Check out gcycle.com (might be .org?), they might have a drop off location where it can be properly disposed of.

Used Film cannisters myself for Ork Dreds back in the RT/2nd Edition Days. They are a tad on the large size.
Also it's a bit more difficult to get film cannisters these days, unless you know someone who is still a 35mm diehard
