a friend of mine build these nice buildings a few weeks ago and I thought I should share them with you. He build it with stuff like "black hawk down" and CoD 4 in mind. I look at that stuff and wait for Scorponok to appear somewhere
P.S.: as I am told, the black Hawk wreckage is already in production.

Gotta love ol' Bagdad Bob:
"they are nowhere near the airport ..they are lost in the desert...they can not read a compass...they are slowed."
"They are not in Baghdad. They are not in control of any airport. I tell you this. It is all a lie. They lie. It is a hollywood movie. You do not believe them."

I would suggest going to a sewing store and getting a sheet of material that is light brown to place on the table when you decide to use this terrain. It's what we do and it really helps everything blend together well... except for the grassy bases that everyone around here always uses.

Looks like pretty good terrain. I used to live in the Middle East (Egypt) and been to several other countries while in the Marines, and it's a decent representation. The sign saying "Stop" in Arabic ( قف ) would look more realistic if it were plain with black or red paint on it though. Overall I'm impressed

It looks very good. I'm most curious about the containers. I've toyed with doing up a substantial number of them to do a battle setup like the the scene from one of the earlier Jackie Chan movies (the name escapes me at the moment) where the battle rages in the container storage areas for the port of Hong Kong (if memory serves me correctly).

Yes, there are female marines and my Sunhawks will explain it to you.

I think those plastic trees could do with a dry brush of lighter green on the leaves, then a burst of Dullcote to take the shinyness out. Heck of a table, some more buildings and it will really have that run down Mogadishu feel.

@Sturmtruppe: the sign is so colorful because it's painted on a car trunk door
@ st. germaine: the containers are from AT-34, just FYI

I think of 'Shipment' from Call of Duty 4. Which would make a hell of a centerpiece for a table ^_^

so what materials are the buildings made out of? I'm trying to do something similar to make some terrain for Battlefield Evolution. Any tips or suggestions for materials use and techniques would be appreciated.. Otherwise, I'll just have to settle with quick, easy foam board buildings that kinda look like poop..

just a little more stuff. the terrain a packed closer together with battlefield: evolution played on it. The bus wreckege is new.
I also took the liberty of making a few pics with my Heroclix miniatures on it while my friend was gone for lunch

I really love how modular this board is. And how great it looks in its many configurations.
For the record, someone would have made those shipping containers home soon after they were opened.. ^_-.

That is an amazing map! Though the thing that I would like to know the most is where did you get all of those guns that are sitting on the tables? I always like having extra guns around of all kinds for conversion work.

@ Captain Vyper: a company called JRminiatures, if I'm not mistaken
@ HF and Malfred: you know, it's fantastic realisitc terrain, but modern warfare just doesn't do it for me on the tabletop
@ I think he collected them from a dozen or so different model kits, but I'll ask him again.
