I recently got a bunch of Daemon Hunter stuff and was trying to think of the most effective way to use it. I got 15 Grey Knights, 7 Terms, 10 Storm troopers, 2 Plasma Gunners, 2 Melta Gunners, 2 chimeras, and a Hell Fire Dread. I run Imperial Fists, so I'm thinking the best way to use the Knights is as allies. This is the list I came up with. I plan to use the Grey knights as Gunline/Counter Assault. Thoughts?

why do you have foot logging grey knights? they will get murdered for easy VP's by your enemy. they should have some kind of transport to be in so they don't get blown away turn one, and can actually reach the enemy.

I don't think GK line marines (kind of an oxymoron but meh) can take transports. They can deep strike if you take them as a fast choice so that's something to keep in mind.

see i know nothing about grey knights other than they are expensive, their equipment, and the termies rock! well is they can do something other than walk around and die then you should try and do that. other than that the list looks slid...i just don't see the GK's doing to much for you, but if your going for fluff go right ahead with them

I play Ultramarines with Allies. Based off what you own, this is what I suggest. As taking Allies allows for 1HQ, 1Elite, 1Fast, and 2 Troops from the allied forces, you could spread it like this to maximize the use of your models and use them in the role they are meant for:
Take the Stormtroopers in 2 seven-man squads with Chimera for your 2 Troops.
Take the PA Grey Knights in a squad of 10 and teleport them in. For this, use teleport homers to place them where you want them with much less risk. Allies can you the homers of your main force as they are 'friendly models'.
The dreadnought will not be usable in an Allies list as it is a Heavy choice, and required a Grey Knight Hero.
For points if you need, and because they kick so much ass, take the Terminators as a Grand Master and Retinue, OR your 1 allied Elites choice.
That is probably one of the best ways to optimize the use of those models, but thats just my opinion. Hope it helps!

Taking 2 troops isn't compulsory if the GK's are just Allies as far as I can tell and Storms are sub-Marine in every aspect (armor, weapons, value).

Stalwart Space Marine
KILL! MAIM! BURN! KILL! MAIM! BURN! I... I mean... For the Emperor?..

IMHO if you want GK's take the GK termies instead. Psyker Terminators that nuke horde armies with holocaust and are harder to hit than it is to make a Sororita swear and just shrug it off anyway, yes please! Yarr!

The Ten Commandments of the Space Marine
1. Thou shalt never, ever, ever argue with the Machine Spirit!
2. Thou shalt always remember that the only thing Flamers are sanctioned to cook is Tyranids. Or, lacking these, thine local contingent of Imperial Guardsmen.
3. Thou shalt always stick "Honk if you think i'm Sexy" stickers on the sides of Rhino's carrying Sisters of Battle.
4. Thou shalt, whenever in doubt, hit on the blonde Battle Sister.
5. Thou shalt not slap the most holy of buttocks of thine Sisters the Battle Sisters and utter the blasphemous words "OMG l33t a55!", unless thou wishest to clean the treads of thine Rhino with thine tongue!
6. Thou shallst not use the chainfists of thine holy Terminator brethren as impromptu can openers.
7. Thou may haveth two livers, but thou shallst not therefore drink twice as much.
8. Thou shallst not refer to Sisters of Battle as the Cavalry.
9. Thou shallst on pain of death not paint the heretical words: "Your Farseer is my other ride!" upon thine Rhino!
10. Thou shallst always remember these wise words: Spase Marines are t3h uberz! Hurr! |

Thanks for all the advice. Do you know if Space Marine teleport homers will work with Grey Knights?

Doctor Optimal: I had suggested taking the Stormies only if he was attempting to use the most allied models he had come across, plus they are cheap and work well for me.
lifeafter: Your Space Marine homers will work with any teleporting models you, the player, are fielding. It will not work for teammates that may use similar tactics though but it will work on your Allies in your army in your Force Org chart. I use it in practice nearly every game.
