I there any point in haveing 2 set of rending claws?
In the tyranid codex there are some weapons that you can not have two of such as crushing claws.
Rending alows you to auto wound on a roll of a 6 with rending claws on all your attacks, so why have 2 rending claws when you can get a pair of scything talons? is there something i am missing?

There is not a rule prohibiting buying rending twise as there is no point in doing so.

GW commonly do not specifically limit the number of times you can get upgrades that do not give additional bonuses when bought multiple times, its really a self regulating way of writing the codexes.
