I think I might drop the dragon mage having too many points in characters and he did really terrible in my test games against Empire and Dwarves. In 2250, I have been very successful with my double dragon list though.

Troops are a little thin though so maybe dropping the Dragon Mage for more units might be a good idea.

Considering dropping Dragon Mage for a Scroll Caddy and then having 2 units of 5 dragon princes instead

I took the 10 dragon princes from Anthony's GT winning army since I wanted to try it out instead of the MSU calvary I usually go with and I really like it. Really does some damage and has decent combat resolution with the banners and is pretty tough. It is better then MSU in some respects that usually there will be at least 5 that actually hit and the banners help combat res.

Not to sure on the bodyguard unit for Teclis. I don't usually take him. I was thinking Phoenix Guard are the most resilient with the 4+ ward save and fear causing but friend said to use White Lions and it was suggested to use Swordmasters but I feel they get shot up to easily.

Lion chariot is vulnerable to shooting but it does cause fear and there are 2 dragons and other targets. Usually hold it back to protect my rear though.

Trying to have as many terror and fear causers as possible as they are good against low leadership and to pair up against other fear causers.

Reavers and eagles for mage hunting march blocking what not. I always liked bows on my reavers for the flexibility.

4 rbts because I will expect nasties and they worked well against the dragons, chariots and treemen and what not that I have encounter.

I am assuming no Dogs of War allowed otherwise I would take 85 point Dogs of War cannons although unfluffy they rule.

Played a few test games but they take awhile and hard to find opponents. Lost against Empire. managed a draw against dwarves, beat chaos and orcs+goblins. Not doing as well as I am with empire but I only played 3 games with empire but I won all 3.

looks okay, but mind you that my 3500 point high elf army got chewed up and spit out. The only change i think I would make is taking the Battle Banner instead of World Dragon. with that, you are almost ensured to win the combate AND make your enemy break. I'm not sold on the Lion Chariot as i havn't had a chance to use it yet. Pair it with phenix guard to stack the fear causing units. other than that, Teclis is awesome. I would either keep him in a unit of white lions or phoenix guard, or just keep him out of sight, as most of the high magic spells do not require line of sight, and you can't shoot what you cant see. I also like using the lore of xhadow with him, that way if he gets in a spot that you don't like him in, then you can move him very easily. also concider bringing the banner of sorcery to give you more power dice, and really dominate your magic phase.

First Thing I notice is on the Lord, Why the lance?? Give him a great weapon, its still +2 strength and is good after he charges, with his speed, it will allow him to go first. Also, A good build for a lord I have found is Vambraces, Great Weapon, Dragon Armor of Caledor and Amulet of Light, it gives him a 2+ reroll armor save with 4+ward amd all his attacks and dragons are magical for all the VC players popping up. Teclis is pretty good as far as the magic phase goes, he really can devaste the oppenent and get the game all rolled up in a magic phase for you. As far as the other aspects of the list, it will be all about what you see as a good choice of units and what you like, some like the lions str in attack, where others like PGuard save. Some like spearmen for all of the attacks.

Great weapons are only +1 Strength when mounted. what i like is taking the Talisman that makes him a level one mage, take the lore of fire, and hope and pray you get Flaming Sword, or take the seer staff, and make sure you get it. +1 Attack, +3 Strength flaming magical attacks for 75 points. and you can still use a shield.

From what I've heard, the first scenario for 'ardboyz is going to be an absolute laugh to watch a teclis army play. Miscast on double 1,2,3 and irresistable force on double 4,5,6

Looks a lot like mine

I'm really liking the deadly dragon prince unit from the UK GT winning list that combination kicks ass. I might even start playing it at 2250.

I said it in the email list and I say it again I like Swordmasters for defending Teclis. Yes they can get shot up but if something attacks in melee swordmasters have a good chance of killing it or at least knocking out the front row to reduce attack backs where Phoenix guard just wiff and then the attack backs all hit Teclis and he dies.

I didn't run any chariots because against Cannons and Dwarven bolt throwers they just get killed.

I think you should go Empire because the one game we played I got my ass kicked terribly.

From what I remember from our game a few weeks ago her Empire list has the following
Arc Lector on Waraltar
Karl Franz on Dragon
3 Mages
Some knights
Some Hand gunners
4 Cannons
2 Steam Tanks.

I got totally massacred. Avariel is dead on with cannons and 4 of them is ridiculous. Teclis died first round after failing his look out sir roll and it went down hill from there. I did learn to keep my dragon lord away from Karl Franz. He just ate my Star Dragon and Prince.

World Dragon Banner makes the unit immune to magic so no beast cowers or lore of metal ravaging the knights. I feel the unit works fairly well as is. The Anthony who came up with the idea won the UK GT. The Magic immunity is golden against certain armies. I can see wanting more combat resolution but Unit Strength 20, 1 rank, two standards is pretty good already. Hopefully you use Unseen Lurker to get into combat fast if your are taking Lore of Shadow

Lion Chariot works really well as long as it does not get shot. The causes fear is really big. Some armies have low leadership and just fold when you get a few fear causers into their lines.

Lore of Shadow is pretty good for Unseen Lurker as well. Although I do not always take lore of Shadow depends on my opponent. With Scenario 1 it seems risky.

Have not really used high magic on Teclis much. The comet and the shield are nice but it seems other lores do more.

As far as the dragon lore the Gem of Courage lets you reroll your leadership if you have some bad rolling and miss your attacks or fail to wound you do not want your dragon lord fleeing and losing 600 points. I have the Amulet of Light on the Dragon Prince unit. Like already mentioned the Great Weapon gives only +1 strength when mounted.

Scenario 1 hurts quite a bit. I played one test game with it and high elves since a Bretonian player friend wanted to try it this week. Teclis is still immune to his first miscast but he does get them quite often rolling 4 or 5 dice for lore of metal and then your sunk because it is really hard to deal with Bretonians without lore of metal.

I was finding that this list got chewed on in the last couple games so I decided to go with Empire. I posted my list for that here:
http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/210620.page

Lost against Bretonians RAF in the last game I played using Scenario 1 Also lost against Vampire Counts. vampire Counts is just a nightmare. Having played them once I realize you have to counter only the spells where they charge you and being laragely out numbered with high elves does not help much.

I like the dragon prince unit of doom as well.

I feel sword masters just don't last the unit gets shot up like you said. A compromise of white lions might work.

Not everyone has cannons or bolt throwers. The Lion Chariot is a risk but against some armies it is very powerful since it causes fear and has 6 str 5 attacks + impact hits. It is also nice since it does not totally lose out if it does not get the charge lkike dragon princes.

I agree and I am going Empire.

Good memory. Thats pretty much it the full list is at the link above.

I got lucky with killing Teclis with you failing the look out sir roll. You made the unit extra juicey to shoot since they were swordmasters so whether I killed Teclis or not killing the Swordmasters was good enough for me. I probably would go Pheonix Guard or White lions. You can use an eagle to redirect or other calvary units to block or chage so Teclis's unit does not get into combat with anything really deadly for a few turns. Pheonix Guard or White lions should hit hard enough to handle flyers or skirmishers that get through. Also try to put Teclis out of site. Sure its hard when I had my Cannons on a hill.
