I have a Giant model without a base. I have a god idea what the correct size is, but I can't an official answer for it in the army or rulebook.

What is the appropirate size base for a Giant in Warhammer Fantasy ?

The new giant model comes on a 50mm X 75mm base. However some of the older ones come on a 50 x 50mm base. I would go with the 50 X 75mm as this is what the current Giant comes with.

when i got mine years ago (the old metal one) i think it was on a 40mm but I'm pretty sure the current ones are larger....

I'm glad I asked. I was thinking 50mmx50mm.

50mmx75mm is a chariot base ?

I custom-built a 50x75 for my counts as slave giant, and I think that's the way to be on the safe side of things. The ancient ones came with 50x50 but newest is that big molded base, which you can make with a 50x50 + 25x50 cav base + GS.

And no, not a chariot base, which I think is 50x100.

Good to know.

I'm just going to cut a 3mm plasticard base to size and sculpt onto it. Had to make sure I had the right size.

Thanks everyone!!

Oh, yeah, it's for a custom slave giant as well. I'll post pics of it in my P&M thread

The obsolete base size chart says giants are 50x50. The current giant model comes on a base 50 wide by 75 long.
A chariot base is 50 wide by 100 long.

He's got a mind like a steel trap. By which I mean it can only hold one idea at a time;
it latches on to the first idea to come along, good or bad; and it takes strenuous effort with a crowbar to make it let go.

A similar issue to the dragon. Old models are probably fine on the 50x50. I don't anticipate anyone will take issue. At worst, you can a cav base to it :-) New ones should be based on the current base (50x75). New customs should do the same.

When they rereleased the model they should have made the giant (and all dragons) on the chariot base: 50mmx100mm.

Greater daemons I'm not so sure about but having a specific sized base just for the giant is dumb...

Possibly stupid clarification. That's the 50 or 75mm part in front of the model ?

I'm assuming it's the 50, but the 75 makes more sense to me.
