i've played against the new VC army 3-4 times now, and Havn't lost yet. My problem is that they have alot more ooptions for their characters than most armies. also there are some ambiguities in the army book that need to be addressed, like can Invocation of nehheck be cast into combate, and do black knights ignore the movment penalties for barding.

I am a Utah man sir, I live across the green, our gang is the jolliest that you have ever seen, Our co-eds are the fairest, ans each one's a shining star, our yell you'l hear it ringing through the mountains near and far.
Who am I sir? a UTAH MAN am I. A UTAH MAN sir, I will be till I die.

KI-YI

Were up to snuff, we never bluff were game for any fuss, no other gang of college men dare meet us in the MUSS. So fill your lungs and sing it out and shout it to the sky, we'll fight for dear old Crimson for a UTAH MAN AM I!!

GO UTES!!!!

Na, they arent. They are just heavily dependent on magic and chars which leads to the army types that people usually dont like.

Blood Knights are a pain i have a friend who constanly fields a unit every game.

I hate the blood knights!
however i did get a lucky cannon shot off at the flank one time and it was quite devastating

Blood knights aren't as good as regular black knights. Frenzy is a liability. Also, they're a point sink.

Interesting. My experience with VC is that played correctly they are nigh unbeatable. My biggest issue with them is the helm of command. It takes their biggest weakness (poor WS) and basically eradicates. Sure it is only usable on one unit within 12" but there is rarely more than one critical combat happening a turn and this item allows an already useful tarpit unit to be seriously unmangeable. But maybe I'm just bitter because I play TK and vampire counts pretty much slaughter me.

New book = New tactics

People usually are lazy to change tactics and lists so everytime a new codex is released we have the same problem. VC are broken in the same way that HE and Chaos were a few months back.
After the codex spreads around some players will discover ubber lists and their oponents will find the counters, nothing new here.
What is broken in the last few codexes is the herohammer feel creeping back to FB.

Smith Jamison: We aren't here, which means when we open up on you and shred your bodies with automatic fire then this will never have happened.

I must be terrible as I've lost most of my games so far with the new book but won most of my games with the old book....

I blame it on two things:
1) Playing Wood Elves for too long.
2) Not experienced enough with the way I'm playing my Vamps now.

So no, I don't think they are cheezy.
