Yeah, I'd deffo support a plastic Big Mek/Warboss box.

The Basilisk box (particularly the missing hull heavy bolter) feels very much like just a stopgap release as the old Chimera moulds are retired.

I'm always greatly appreciative whenever people do 'family shots' like this, as it nicely puts things in perspective and it always helps to not see individual models in a vacuum. However, you've got the size of the Kans wrong, they're a fair bit bigger than that. They come on 60mm bases.

How could all you supposed Warbosses forget about the plight of the Meganobz! :(

I dream of having an all mega armoured horde swarming across the table but there being only two figures (expensive ones at that) and one really expensive mega armoured warboss figure makes that dream a distant and somehwat dull looking one....

But seriously, meganobz would really benefit from a five figure box like terminators get, the shear amount of gubbinz that you get in plastic kits would go a long way to making them look less samey as well.

On the subject of warbosses/meks. A plastic kit would be quite tough cos of the shear amount of options they can take but if they did a warboss/mek kit with standard foot slogging, mega armour and bike riding legs parts (like the orc warboss on boar) then I think they could also do a bigger warbike as an indivual frame, include it in the boss/mek kit and reuse it for a Wazdakka figure to get the extra mileage out of it. Except of course that they hate hybird kits...

I was told by a shop staffer that the space marine captain box made them back their investment in no time, Orks may not be as popular but I think a really cool boss/mek kit could sell exceptionally well. It obviously wouldn't include a SAG or KFF as those are still very new figures and nice ones at that, not to mention they're big parts.

Other then new buggies, Flash Gitz, Meganobz and a HQ set in plastic Orks need plastic Big Gunz and the last two character figures Wazdakka and Old Zogwort, with those done GW would have succeeded in complelety redoing the entire range. No small accomplishment.

Don't expect any more hybrid kits.

It would be nice if Orks became the second all-plastic race in 40K (sans the odd character/special character, like Marines).

Yah, I know hybrids are the devil in GW's eyes but I think it's simply the best way for them to make both the boss/mek on bike and wazdakka.

A metal bike for wazdakka would be eye wateringly expensive so if they do one for a boss/mek set it'd just make sense to reuse it.

There is no all-plastic army except Empire in Fantasy. I want one in 40K SO bad. Orks would be nice, as would Guard. Both are already close. Tyranids too.

I said "sans the odd character/special character". Characters are always going to be metal, as they're cheaper to produce that way and hold more detail.

I also said it would be nice if Orks were the second all (and by all, I of course mean "mostly all") plastic army in the game. They're not far off from being at the same level of plastic as the Marines.

And finally there are metal Empire models. It's not all plastic.

Perhaps, but if they start releasing plastic general kits again, it's not a massive leap to provide head/gun options on the sprue that create Special Characters. I imagine if anybody was making a model to field Old One Eye, they'd be using the skull head option in the carnifex box together with a set each of scything talons and crushing claws. I know the inclusion of Old One Eye parts was by (happy) accident, but why not do it by design with other kits?

Personally I'd love them to go back to making plastic Commanders.

Imagine a combined 'Space Marine Commander' kit that came with enough parts to make either a Chaplain, Librarian or Captain. Do the same thing for Chaos. Then for Orks. Eldar.

We've already got it for Guard, essentially, but there's no reason plastic Commissar and whatnot parts couldn't be included.

Okay, and this will reference your later post too. SM is not all plastic - not because of special characters, but because of veterans, the thunderfire cannon, and techmarines. Empire is essentially all plastic because you can have one of every unit type as a plastic model. I'll grant you not all Lords and heroes, but every unit IS in plastic.

I COMPLETELY agree with you on the hero boxes though. The Fantasy boxes are a prime example of how awesomethis is. They need - for SM - a power armored hero box (Captain, Chaplain, Librarian) and a Terminator Hero box.

An Ork hero box for Warboss, mek, and weirdboy would be swank, as would a mega armor box for warboss and mek. Every time a new multi-part plastic set comes out, I get filled with joy.

I know there are non-plastic units, hence 'mostly all'. Have we caught up yet? Thank you.

Let's move on...

And they seemed to have stopped the plastic characters for Fantasy. What was the last one? High Elf Noble-dude and Socerer-chick? They were great kits. Why not more?

Sorry if I missed this somewhere, but will the Black Box also contain the Battle Mission book itself? And if so, when does it hit stores?

Not playing Orks, IG, or SM myself, I'm not overly interested in the sprue contents. But I would like to see that mission book. Hoping for some good, entertaining stuff to shake things up so every mission isn't C&C Spearhead or KP DoW.

Because the people at GW are dumber than a box of rocks.

That's a damn good idea that, a plastic ork mega armoured warboss/mek could have ghazgul parts and likewise with wazdakka parts for a warboss/mek on bike, that'd certainly solve the problem I had with my solution.

Another good ork plastic set would be a painboy/standard mek/weirdboy set with parts for grotsnik/zogwort etc.

Inside a pretty, pretty pain cave... won't you come inside?

There is most certainly a grotzooka. You can see it in the sprue pics and on the front box. Looks like what you would expect, a funnel full of scrap with a barrel sticking out of it. Should be easy to convert a few more.

Built a Deff Dredd today.

Kit goes together like an absolute dream! Lots of different options, tons of bits left over (I gave it 4 Rippy Klaws, because I dun't wunt Dakka on me Dredd, innit?).

Not entirely sure how the guns attach, as didn't read that bit of the instructions.

Also had a damned good butchers of the Venerable Dreadnought Sprue. Don't like the head? You can make up a complete standard sarcophagus. Don't like the writey bits on the hull? Take your pick of the covering plates. Seriously lovely little kit that.

Oh, and I also built the Flashgit. Very niiiice!

Amazingly great news! I'm not down with the writing at all. Like the head though.

Three heads are pretty cool. Two might look slightly odd on Power Armoured Marines, due to quite chunky jaw area, but the one used in the promotional pic would look pretty dashed sweet.

Lots and lots of options on the frame, so many I cannot even begin to describe the varieties. Sadly won't be building the Vendead or Kans meself. Ah well, I shall crash with me Stompa!

He's a GW employee. If he takes pics of unreleased models Jervis will personally kill his entire family. But he gets a 50% discount, so it's totally worth it.

Since the profiles of libbies and chappies sucked...there would be many parts(and money) wasted, if the products you suggested released

...And GW want to sell more named character blisters.

Some people feel their job is more important than catering to the whims of nerds on Dakka.

Perhaps nicety is in order H. I know it's a difficult concept for you to grasp but try it. You might come to enjoy being nice on occasion.

--The whole concept of government granted and government regulated 'permits' and the accompanying government mandate for government approved firearms 'training' prior to being blessed by government with the privilege to carry arms in a government approved and regulated manner, flies directly in the face of the fundamental right to keep and bear arms.

For characters i'll always prefer metal then plastic multi part.

Because certain poses just cant be done if limbs are exchangeable.
