You know that clever idea we had about 'tagging' mierce stuff with more normal names so people could search for stuff for a.n.other games

well I put the idea to Rob in the comments.....

and he's already done it (and yes I tried it and it seems to work well)…… Doh!

I saw that. Couldn't hurt to put a note on the front page of the site saying that though (in lieu of making actual tags). It is quite extensive, which is great. I searched for 'Troll', and got all the of the Darklands trolls, obviously, but searching for 'Troggoth' yields the same result. Whereas searching 'Wolf', shows everything wolfy from Darklands, searching 'Werewolf' only shows the 'Waelwulfs' (the legit Darklands werewolves).

So I guess the main thing people need to know is, that is exists.

He's just posted it to facebook (publicization is go)

and to an extent if you didn't know anything about mierce the obvious thing is to run a search for what you want as a first step

(it's what i'd do for a large site I hadn't been to before if I had something I wanted in mind)

it's only us who 'know' the site who are going to go 'aaargh I know it should be there somewhere, what kindred was it again, ogres, are they all in albainn? I'm sure I saw some somewhere else, oh yes fomoraic etc'

If you search for 'Chaos', you get all the Fomoraic, and the infernii.

Wow, that's fantastic news. I'll definitely be more amenable to checking their site first for proxies. A tags feature shouldn't be a stealth update. They need to send out a full email newsletter on that functionality, stat!

Oh yeah, I don't disagree. I just thought it was funny, I had typed in so much GW stuff and I was like, "What (if anything) will come up if I put 'Chaos' in?"

I think Krull must be the most popular Bloodthirster proxy out there, for sure!

HAPPY NEW BEER!
Happy New Year to all of you guys and gals our there - and we have some new miniatures to show you for Darklands: Savage Hordes II this week!

This week we have:

sculpt work in progress updates from Bob Płociennik;
a link to the forums where you can see this project's fulfilment;
a reminder that if you play Darklands, head to our forums to find more players!
...and anything else you can expect from us over the next few months.
Let's have a look at some...

Seven miniatures to show today, and all for the Byzantii! Huzzah!

All the Auxilia are complete! Bob Płociennik has been working wonders on these guys.

Janus is the contubernium's champion, a Decanus...

...meaning "first of the ten".

A warrior of the contubernium is Madrona...

...she's female! You've seen her and Janus before, of course, but it doesn't hurt to show you them again with the rest of the unit...

Valerius is another warrior of the contubernium…

...the first you've not already seen.

Manius joined up to see the world...

...instead he just sees hairy barbarians and terrifying monsters. Who'd be a soldier?!?

Balius is the fifth and last unique member of the unit...

Wave 26 - April - should see these guys in your hands!

The Auxilia Sagittarii are also complete, thanks to Bob's ministrations. Two for the price of one!

The champion of the unit if Brictius.

Again, we've seen him and Magdala, but it helps to show them all together.

Magdala is a warrior of the Sagittarii...

...which means she shoots arrows at the enemy!

Velius looks like a nice lad...

...he loves playing conkers with his mates. Currently he sports a thirty-one-er.

Whilst Manfredus enjoys cap guns...

...he doesn't really care for the smell of them after a few caps have been popped.

Basilius, however, much prefers tater guns because you don't have to pay for the ammunition.

Now then, people, Wave 26 in April should see the Sagittarii shipped around the world...

Not only the Auxilia and Auxilia Sagittarii, but also the Auxilia Bestiarii! They're not quite finished yet, but they will be for next time.

The leader of the Tribum (no sniggering at the back) is Acteon.

He's a Quinanus. Try saying it "kwin-AR-nus" not the way where it sounds like anus.

Cue jokes about Gordian knots...

We'll probably supply his (and Petra's) whip flat, so you can bend it how you like, resin or metal. Easier for us to cast!

These guys should be a Wave 26 shipment too.

I like the Roman figs especially the first one (the champion). I could using that as a lawful fighter/mercenary in a fantasy RPG setting.

I'm imagining one of those beast handlers being stupid enough to try and whip Krull or Xet, or any other Infernii demon to do something.

Well huh. Kinda nice to see Khthon get some more ranged options, especially at the infantry size rather than big giant monsters constantly.

Anyone get the newer lizard resins?

I'm somewhat tempted to switch over to resin as I'm getting impatient waiting for the metals, and I'm seeing the big salamandras showing up in the wild...

Poorly lit photos of my ever- growing collection of completely unrelated models!

Those lizards are sexy as all heck.

Roman-ish dudes are eh. Feels like they are veering much closer into GW style impractical armour than the more historically inspired stuff I expect and love from Mierce: whether the super-wide upper chest plates on the dudes that would cut into your arms whenever you tried to fight, or the chainmail corsets on the women.

I think Mierce felt it had to up-size things a bit as their first go'round of 'normal' humans were way too weedly.

I know I wish I'd held off until now for all the Formor, Norse, Byzantii, Anglecynn, etc. human infantry I've already purchased.

Same. I was the one that agitated for that 5 infantry units offer in the KS, but I haven't actually done it yet as I'll be grumpy AF if I buy a unit that gets re-sculpted.

Update on the metals is, well, still nothing:

I asked planning about metal manufacturing. No, you don't need planning, you need to ask licensing. Licensing department? No, you don't need licensing, you need planning.

Still chasing them. At some point I may have to just utter the immortal "fuggit" and just do it.

I would say this is a run around but I have a friend that took a year to get the city we live in to fix a sewage leak in the gutter in front of their house. City councils can just suck no matter where you live.

Well here we are again, another update for Darklands: Starter Hosts II and we have some progress on something other than Werwulfas...

This week we have:

sculpt work in progress updates from Jamie Phipps;
a link to the forums where you can see this project's fulfilment;
a reminder that if you play Darklands, head to our forums to find more players!
...and anything else you can expect from us over the next few months.
Here's some...

Just the one miniature to show, for the Anglecynn, and it's very early days but she's already looking good!

The lovely Leofwen was always a great concept but a so-so miniature, so we're very much looking forward to Jamie's version of her...

It's very early days so it's doubtful if she'll be done for Wave 25, but Wave 26 is definitely a possibility...

What's Next?
Jamie will be carrying on with Leofwen of course, and we have some cracking news on the new Werwulfas: the warrior unit has been printed and the hunter unit is in the process of printing (currently 3 out of 5 done). Next will be Hror and Thurgis, so we are very hopeful of a Wave 25 (February) shipment for these guys - in resin, anyway! Metal versions will be done for Wave 26 (April), if not earlier, as we should be up and running ourselves with metals by then.

As well as that, Cynemon will be getting some treatment very soon indeed...

Automatically Appended Next Post:
so a new sculptor

and hopeful news on the metals (hopefully with council permission and not just getting started only to have to demolish it all later)

Happy New Beer!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

It's 2019! Hurrah!! And we have some news of shenanigans with this here project... the first shipments will begin tomorrow!

That does, however, mean that we'll be removing stuff from the webstore next week... including Morag of Mann, so if you want her, order her...!

What's going on here then...
Again, we have more movement on the branded Miercendise with everything bar the stuff pouch, beanie hat, tokens tin and t-shirt received. Sadly our (competent) contact at the branding company has swapped heads again, but the newest head seems okay too so we're hopeful this will all be done and dusted by April. We shall see...

The upshot is that we'll be shipping a lot of what we've got to you tomorrow - yes, TOMORROW - so some of you will be getting stuff next week or possibly even Saturday if the postman is feeling quick.

(for images and stuff check the update I can't post them at the moment for some reason, also info on where the rest of the ks sits in terms of getting it made/ordered/fixed)

How long have I got to order stuff?

Here's where you need to get your skates on: we'll be removing the bits that we'll be sending on Monday the 11th, including Morag and Sáthach, so order them now or pay full price!

We'll be removing:

Pint Glass (568ml)
Pint Tankard Glass (568ml)
Pint Mug (568ml)
Bottle Opener Keyring
Black Pen
Black Dry-Wipe Marker Pen
Mierce Miniatures Dice Tray
Morag of Mann
Sáthach

Have they changed any of the names and character fluff to something resembling pronounceable yet?
Literally the only thing holding me back from dropping some cash on this lol.

Because the sculpts are BAD ASS. Not a fan of female roman legionaries but the MeatHulk and the DIS demons are amazing. I'm glad they are still going.

2) You can search on their website using just about any 'generic' keyword you can think of - so, try that out, as it seems to be what you're wanting?

Lizzie bolt thrower is available:

Pre-order Kkleek's Throwers and get 50% off until Monday!

We've a totally new set of Darklands 32mm scale miniatures in resin for you in March, because Bob Płociennik has been hard at work designing Kkleek's Throwers all on his own - well, with input from us, of course! As mentioned above, you can get the full unit of Kkleek and three megakontaboloi - bolt-throwers to you and me - at 50% off until Monday the 18th of February at midnight (GMT)!

Megakontaboloi - great javelin throwers - are small artillery pieces favoured by the Sávrar as they are easily built, simple to operate and deadly on the battlefield. Used in batteries of three and commanded by Kkleek, a Sávrapolyonarch warchief, this unit brings your Khthones host some much needed long range punch!

Kkleek's Throwers, Megakontabolos Unit

How do I get 50% off?

That's easy - use a voucher code! It will only work on Kkleek himself, the Kkleek's Throwers, Megakontabolos Unit, Rillik's Thrower, the three crewmen Rillik, Billik and Elkoss, Flesh-Biter the standalone bolt-thrower and the Megakontabolos Armaments (and not any of the components, please note).

Your voucher code is: KKLEEK

To use this voucher simply register on the webstore, mierce-miniatures.com (if you haven't already), copy and paste the voucher code into the Voucher field in your basket when you have selected the items you want, press 'REDEEM', and the webstore will do the rest. You are not limited to one purchase and, indeed, we would ask you to recommend us to your friends with this voucher!

Kkleek, Sávrapolyonarch

Kkleek, Rillik's Thrower, crewmen and stuff

You can of course purchase all the miniatures within the battery individally! There's Kkleek, a warchief that commands the war engines of the Khthones - a Sávrapolyonarch. You can purchase just one bolt-thrower and two crew with Rillik's Thrower; and there's three different crewmen to choose from, Rillik, Billik and Elkoss, should you want to buy them individually. You can even purchase just the bolt-thrower, Flesh-Biter, on its own - and even the Megakontabolos Armaments, too! We spoil you lot!

Rillik's Thrower, Megakontabolos Unit (Rillik and Billik are the two crewmen shown)

Components and Accessories

All of the components of Kkleek's Throwers - Kkleek, the bolt-throwers and the crew and armaments - are available right now and can be found on their item pages! Remember though, you won't get 50% off individual component purchases.

Rillik's Thrower components

Order Kkleek's Throwers now!

All the miniatures within Kkleek's Throwers will be released on the 3rd of March and so you can pre-order them right now... and if you order any of those miniatures before midnight (GMT) on Monday the 18th of February you'll get 50% off! How cool is that!

Rob currently hinting that this may also end up in a Howdah on the back of a giant turtle...
