I'll post several threads for this years Forgeworlds 'Waste your time' day at GW HQ this year (more on this in another post). Here's the Reaver, up for Pre Order at £550! I'd wait a while before ordering, as there will be different weapon mounts done for it in the future, once Will Haynes has finished off some DKK stuff.

Inside the head is a crew of 3, whilst inside the carapace is 2 wired in servitors (See bottom Picture) and enough room for a tech priest plus 2 servitors.

It looks awsome. Just need to find a spare £550 plus at least a month or two to build it!

Isn't the imperial cirty walls comparable £ wise?

I'd much rather have that, even although the reaver is such a cracking model.

I do agree though, it is a reaver. Much better than an upgunned and slightly bigger warhound.

While it looks really old-school Titan, I'm definitely waiting for the Lucius pattern (the squarer one) to come out. The beetle carapaces don't really harmonize with the blocky look that's been given to Imperial tech this last decade.

I may invest in one, depending on what my funds are like when the time comes and it's available. I don't really see myself starting any new armies and if I add to what I already have it'll be small things like a box of troops every once in a while.. so this could end up being a fun long term project for me. If my baneblade took almost a month I'm sure a reaver will take me almost a year to build and paint.

Where do we get the rules for it? I think BOLS had some that they came up with but I'd assume FW will be putting it in one of their books? I can't remember if it was in IA: Apocalypse...

There won't be a Lucius Pattern. Will Haynes who designed this one and the Warhound hates the Epic Lucius model with a passion, or so he told me.

They had two schemes on display - the kinda blah grey and yellow Reaver belongs to the Legio Gryphonicus (War Griffons Legion) and the blue and yellow (sans traditional flame motif) Reaver belongs to the Legio Astorum (Warp Runners Legion). Here's some more pics and info from Warseer members:

Have not got any shots, but they did open up the reaver. It all comes apart except the guns, which means it looks like you can just fit it in a double sized gw carry case!

Inside has 3 crew (detailed and were painted) bits slide out. As i said it realy does all come apart!

It weighs 4.5 and is very sturdy.

The chaos version as mentioned is coming out, and they are doing lots of variant arms and head weapon options, but you will not be able to buy these seperately unfortunately! I thought it was gorgeous.

It has 6 structure points and 4 void shields and is 1500pts according to Warwick so yes 2 warhounds can be a bit more competitive!

They are going to do the eldar equivalent and an ork gargant but not sure which one first.

BTW the model is 250 pieces which is less than the warhound. Yes 2 warhounds may be the more attractive option for competitive gamers if thats youre thing. I personally would rather have the reaver as I love the model and would rather build one not two titans! It took warwick two days to build the reaver which is quite quick I would say.

If they were real gamers they would have coughed up! Hardly worth leaving the hobby, I managed for years without using FW stuff.

Im not sure about it to be honest. I find the Mars Pattern Warhound is a much better model, and easier on the bank balance too.

I think I will wait to see different versions/weapons before buying one.

Well, Forgeworld knows it'll sell as many as it can produce pretty much no matter what they charge. Unlike the warhound, which can fit nicely even into a small apocolypse game, the Reaver isn't exactly going to be used in a lot of games by most gamers. I imagine the hard core collectors with the time and patience will buy them.

not sure if this has been posted elsewhere, but when talking about the reaver titan and its assembly, he said it would be far easier. the leg joint won't need as much work for the pistons, plus they also get hidden more by the leg plating, also the cabling detail to the head legs and weapons should require very little playing with to get right. as a final the waist joint and missile pod just fit together as a peg and hole so no messing about with the posing and transporting of it.

It looks awesome, and if I had unlimited money I'd buy one, but as it stands at that price point, if I was in the market for a FW Titan I'd just buy a Warhound.

I promised myself many years ago that if 40K sized versions of the titans I saw in Adeptus Titanicus were to ever become available, I'd buy one. When Forgeworld USA/Armorcast took up the cause, their titans were the bees knees and as soon as I could afford them, I picked up an Eldar Revenant and later a Reaver. Now that demand for titans is higher thanks to Apocalypse, I guess it's time to unload them in anticipation of buying one of these guys. I'm going to wait until I see what other loadouts are available though - always was partial to the chainfist.

Wish I knew for sure that the rumored Warlord was a go...

Adrift within the vortex of my imagination.

seeing the titan in less earthy colours made a difference.

Its about the only warmachine left from ther infamous red era of Gw that actually deserves to be in a bold colour. Blue is ok, a good strong red is just right for a titan though.

I think it will look better in fire Wasp or Legio metallica colours. Warp Runners will do, with stronger yellows.

In any case this gives me a powerful and unaffordable thirst for a reaver titan, and armorcast one to be exact. This new Forgeworld piece is not its equal. Given the choice and an equal price, I would still prefer the older model. it has a presence this one is lacking.

Anyone else note how the weapons are changing to disavow the armorcast options as much as possible. Reavers can have gatling blasters though, anything except plasma destructor and wrecker ball, both or which are for warlords only.

n'oublie jamais - It appears I now have to highlight this again.

It is by tea alone I set my mind in motion. By the juice of the brew my thoughts aquire speed, my mind becomes strained, the strain becomes a warning. It is by tea alone I set my mind in motion.

As someone who dislikes the AC version, and the FW Lucius pattern Epic titans, I was nervous when they changed the pose of the legs, but now that I see the titan all painted up and ready to go, I am somewhat relieved. While I would have preferred the feet seen in the first prototype, the current design looks and feels like a part of the same continuum as the old ones. Much has been said about the 'flow' of the curved paneling being non-Imperial in nature, but looking at the machine as a whole, with the rivets, the giant weapons, the scrollwork and the icons, there's no question about it, this is an Imperial relic of war.

Maybe it's that the legs aren't quite so spread out, or that the upper legs are beefier than the armorcast version, but even that wide stance doesn't bother me anymore. Given the size of the missile launcher, a braced stance makes sense.

The supply does not get to make the demands.

All of the titans look very nice, but I have a soft spot for the Armorcast ones. Does that make me bad person?

I also don't like the squished face, I like the more warhound-ish pointier reaver faces of old. But aside from that, you can't deny that it's a hell of a model.

Lots of varied opinions. Guess the model has done it job and generated interest.

At one time I had all the armorcast ones, and as FW redesigns and updates the models I replace the AC with FW. Because the scales are different you really have to go one way or another in your gaming group. It really detracts from the imagery to have a AC Reaver square off against a FW Warhound of equal height (and bigger guns).

I think this Reaver is a home run, seeing it painted really sealed the deal. I can't wait to see pics of the Chaos Reaver. My only complaint is not being able to order weapons options ala carte.

I think many people are under the impression that the AC Reaver and FW Reaver are around the same size. Good to hear from someone who has seen the AC Reaver and the FW Warhound together to make a comparison. I scaled up one of the pictures taken at Games Day of the FW Reaver to "life-size" based on how tall people said it was, and printed it out. The thing is not only taller, but much beefier than my AC Reaver.
