Hey all,
Im new to this particular forum, and didnt notice anything recently about painting this particular army.
If anyone can recommend anything, that'd be fantastic! Ive always liked the army, but Ive never really been sure of how to go about painting them well.
I didnt have much luck at all with the goblin green edge "highlights" they show you in the last Chaos codex, so Im looking for any ideas.

Im afraid Ive lost a little faith in this newest version of the chaos codex, with all this talk of pirates and renegades taking away from the basis for the whole concept: the traitor legions!
They're more important than any of this other mess they've brought out.

Anyways, my 2 cents on that, Im looking for ideas on how to paint an Alpha Legion army. Any army list ideas would be great too, I figure chosen for elites, but past that, Im not real sure which way to go.

Thanks all!

The goblin green edge highlights is absolutely doable, but not in minimal steps.

Your best bet with that scheme is to mix the base blue with the goblin green and do some intermediate highlights (so that you get a nice gradient between the blue and green). Afterwards, you'd best be served by applying a glaze over it: that is, a super-thin ink wash that you apply over the whole area to bring the colors together a bit more.

The only advantage to the new codex is that you can have unique deamons now. You aren't restricted to using a Blood Thirster or Lord of Change, so why would you use them? Create something grotesque and wonderful that fits your army's theme. Otherwise, there's just nothing good about the new codex.

Hm... As for lists, is the Lost and Damned still valid (from Codex Eye of Terror)? 'Cause if it is, it is easily the best way to play Chaos anymore.
