Okay, I checked the could effect rules and line of sight and I am a bit confused.

Necrovent is a cloud effect, so you can target a death jack while its in it, but when its on the opposite side of necrovent (the cloud is between you and the death jac)k, you can't target it. Well, what if it is on the edge of the cloud, but 3 inches in (necrovent is a 5 inch cloud effect) In the prime remix book, it says that if you are in the cloud effect you can be targeted, but my opponent with the death jack was saying that when you are 3 inches into a cloud effect, you cannot be targeted. This wasn't a huge issue of contention and hardly a make or break gamewise, but I would like to know for further understanding and future occurences. or possible even to exploit that myself.

Your opponent was wrong. He's confusing the rules for forests with the rules for clouds. You were right.

And on top of that, Necrovent must be centered on the Deathjack as well, so it cannot be on one side of the cloud affect.

Well in regards to the centering on the deathjack, I pushed him with a thunderbolt. He moved directly away 3 inches. In that case after that turn, the necrovent was no longer centered around the deathjack.
