I've recently plunged back into the world of 40k after a several year hiatus. I used to play mainly Black Templars, so fancied something a bit different than a frothing assault army. I'm sketchy on current rules and trends in army composition, but I have a ton of backstory for this list in my head, and really want to use the Grey Knights. List is based around two IG battleforces which I've got on the way, so any revisions that at least contain the contents of that are more than welcome.

HQ

Command Platoon - 95
Senior Officer - 95
4 Plasma guns

Grey Knight Hero - 349
Grand Master w/ Holocaust
4 Grey Knight Terminators

Troops

Infantry Platoon A - 235
Junior Officer - 65
Lascannon
Infantry Squad - 85
Lascannon
Infantry Squad - 85
Lascannon

Infantry Platoon B - 235
Junior Officer - 65
Lascannon
Infantry Squad - 85
Lascannon
Infantry Squad - 85
Lascannon

Fast Attack

Grey Knights - 275
Justicar
9 Grey Knights

Heavy Support

Leman Russ - 155
Heavy Bolter x3

Leman Russ - 155
Heavy Bolter x3

Running total = 1499

Basic plan is the platoons take out transports first, so the battlecannons can take out whatever happens to be inside, then everything else. IG HQ is short ranged rapid plasma for whatever gets too close. Counter-attack comes from 15 deep-striking S6 space marines, five of which have power weapons, and a grand master with holocaust. I'm pretty happy with the look of this list, but was thinking of taking the FAPAGK squad down to 6 men and throwing in a Basilisk for even more ordinance. Any suggestions or corrections where I've gotten confused on army selection would be really appreciated. Cheers.

Don't give your command squad weapons, they need to be hiding and giving the rest of the army LD. If you can shoot your enemy, your enemy can shoot you.

"But remember that there are over 1000 chapters of spase marienz! So the SM codex has to cover over 1000 different kinds of spase marienz! Codex CSM only has to cover 1 kind (the Chaos kind). And I don't even think Eldar are a kind of spase marienz at all. Hurr!"

It's a company which specialises in the selling of plastic representations of Elves, Goblins, and 9 foot tall superhuman soldiers from the future - have you ever considered that, as adults, it is US that is intruding upon THEIR world?

yea drop the special weapons on the command for sure. also i don't think the grey knights will be worthwhile at all. they will eat so much fire and quickly die, giving the opponent loads of VP's. the termies are ok, but the reg grey knight not so much

Will remove the special command weapons. Anything that should go in to replace them?

I was hoping the regular GK would teleport down near the Terminators and support them with whatever they do, thus the fast attack categorey. If I take out the PAGK what would be better in there?

you will run into trouble with orks here. Not enough shots. I have recently incorporated the DH hero as well. I have not used him yet though.
