Starting in June, I'll be playing in a Warhammer Warbands campaign, starting with 300 points. That means I need to get these guys done by June 1st. Here's my start: a mini-unit of Orc Boyz.

You can see the rules of the campaign (if you're interested) here.

I'll keep posting updates as I can crank them out.

I've finished the next unit, another five-orc squad

I'm a slow painter, but I'm making progress. You can check it out at http://strangevistas.wordpress.com/

Hrm. Maybe I should look into some Warbands action as a primer for a full on delve into the Fantasy world. Look good, if a little static. Might I suggest some basic weathering and damage on the blades? A wash of chestnut ink possibly? Maybe the new foundation orange to give a rust feel. Overall the boyz look a bit clean for orkses.

Finally got another unit finished. I'm going glacially slow on this project.

With the release of the new wash set, you're really just hamstringing yourself if you don't utilize them for some quick and easy depth and detail. You can easily get away with just buying one wash if you don't have a lot of funding. Black is a pretty good color to start with and would easily add a lot to what you've already done here ^_^. Or if you like a more grungy look, possibly the gryphon sepia (a nice brown). Liberal application and you'd jump these guys up a serious notch.

Finally, an update. Four Orc Big 'Uns to serve as a bodyguard mini-unit for the warboss.

Well, it wasn't a large goal, but I got it done. Here's the warband leader:

and here's the entire warband in its glory.

You can follow the entire process of putting this group together here

I don't know what I'll be tackling next, but thanks for the advice and support! I forgot to mention that I did go ahead and give the unit a once-over with some home-made floor-wax wash, so they are a bit grimier.

Very nice table top quality force. Very straight forward and executed.

Any plans to expand it in the future?

I don't know. I could certainly keep adding to this one, or switch to something different, like building up my dwarf army.
