Once I'm finished building my 2000 pt army, which will be fairly soon actually, I'm going to be working on building a 3000 pt one to match the 3000 pt BA army my friend is building (sheesh no time to paint yet apparently!) Haven't read all the rules on 5th edition but this will basically be keeping those rules in mind.
Anyway here's what I've come up with so far...
3000
HQ
Abaddon 275
(figured daemon princes at this point wouldn't last more than a couple turns)
Fast Attack 620
10xCR1 310
MoN, 2xMelta, AC, PF
10xCR2 310
MoN, 2xMelta, AC, PF
Troops 1050
10xPM1 300
2xPlasma, AC, PF
10xPM2 300
2xPlasma, AC, PF
10xPM3 300
2xPlasma, AC, PF
3xRhino 150
Extra Armour
Heavy 675
3xObliterators 225
3xObliterators 225
3xObliterators 225
So that leaves me with 380 points to spend on terminators with mark of nurgle..Question is what would be the best way to configure them to be hangin with Abaddon. Abaddon is enough of a close combat monster as it is, so I figured maybe just lots of terminators to take wounds for him but that would simply be too boring ;(
So I came up with something like this...
10xTerminators
MoN, 2xPF, CF, HF
= 380
Or perhaps something like this
10xTerminators
MoN, CF, 2xHF, 3xCombi
= 380
Open to any Terminator configuration suggestions for my Termies that will basically be a retinue for Abaddon, as well as any other suggestions for the army. All I will need to buy is the terminators and 3 more obliterators, not too shabby!
Thanks,
Fiend

As long as you've got that many terminators, why not give one (or two) of them a Reaper autocannon? The usual wisdom that the HF is far better due to cost might not apply when dealing with a ten strong unit that will obliterate anything nearby anyway, particularly with Abaddon in the mix.
I'd drop the Extra Armour from the Rhinos. If a 3k list wants 3 armor 11 vehicles snuffed it isn't going to stop at stunning them.
Other than that, I can't criticize anything in the list (other than Abaddon over Typhus....what kinda Death Guard are you?) Oblits, Plague Marines and MoN raptor/Terminator units are pretty much excellent.
(Abaddon should totally port in on one of the Icons, so as to surprise the enemy with his sudden presence wherever he's needed. Having him roll with the Terminators is serious overkill, nothing in the BA Dex can beat either him or the Terminators in melee anyway)

All in all, fact is that Warhammer 40K has never been as balanced as it is now, and codex releases have never been as interesting as they are now (new units and vehicles and tons of new special rules/strategies each release -- not just the same old crap with a few changes in statlines and points costs).

i would give the termies a reaper, and split them into two units, one of 6 and the other of 4. run abbadon with the 5. that way you have a split of termies, otherwise you have too many points in one place at one time. any super heavy vehicle will make easy VP's out of them. then you also have the ability to put some behind the enemy or on one flank, and then the other unit to the other flank, and spread the enemy then while you work your way into the middle of their lines

I suppose if I really wanted to I could remove extra armour from the rhinos and do something like this
5xTerminators
Reaper, CF, 3xCombi
5xTerminators
Reaper, CF, 3xCombi
=410 pts
Then with the left over 15 pts I'd have I could give my plague marines a personal icon a piece.
Although the terminators only function really was to get abaddon into the picture and lead him to close combat (ie take lascannon shots and fist hits for him)...And I really was hoping to field them with an icon of nurgle, yet a 10 man termie squad is the only feesable way I see of doing that. On top of that majority toughness gonna be all sorts of screwy, majority invuln saves already screwy. And as much as I LOVE reaper auto cannon I'm having a hard time justifying the 25 points a piece...

I don't think you will regret x2 Reapers, especially in a 3000 point game. In fact, I bet they will save your butt.

Alright you convinced me, reaper auto's are such a sweet concept, just hope its better pts-wise. Only thing that bothers me is that 4 ap vs space marines..Guess I wouldn't be using it always vs infantry anyway though. I suppose it would be a toss up between..
10xTerminators
IoN, 2xReaper, 2xPF
and
5xTerminators
Reaper, CF, 3xCombi
5xTerminators
Reaper, CF, 3xCombi
BUT I'm kind of wondering if also on the second I wouldn't really need a chainfist so much, and should drop it for a powerfist and 4th combi plasma, simply because thats already 2 AT right there (reaper + PF). What do you guys think would be best? BA have lots of tough tanks ;(
Thanks much

Your terminators are sort of unlikely to be punching tanks, right? I figure they want to fight other troopers to make use of all those power weapons.
You've got obliterators to pop tanks, I think you can stick with the fist, as that last plasma blast could be crucial.
Now on the big IoN unit vs. the 2 small units...I'm not sure. Be guided by your instincts.
