We've convered another to come join our slowly growing league out here in the southwest. He knew he wanted to play, but didn't
have an army, so my friend gave him a 500 point Tau list while he played Dark Eldar. I took orks.

Orks

Warboss with BC, Attack Squig, and twin shoota

20 or so shoota boys w/ PK nob and 2 big shootas

28 or so slugga boys with PK nob and 2 rokkits

(can't remeber exact numbers, came out to 500 points or so)

DE

Archon with agonizer
5 incubi with nasty pointy things of death
2 warrior squads of 10 with splinter cannons
5 wytches

Tau
Some boss that jumped around a lot and didn't do much else
1 broad side with stablizers and seeker missles
2 squads of fire warriors
1 crisis suit
3 Stealth suits

We had quite a bit of terrain with each of us deploying on a side/corner.

I sent the shoota boyz with the warboss after the Dark Eldar and the slugga boyz after the Tau. This turned out to be a very good idea.

The Tau tried to get into position to fire at the DE Archon and Retinue coming at them while getting some Fire Warriors in place to get a clear shot at my slugga boyz.

DE sent a squad of Warriors and the Wytches after my Shoota Boyz and his Archon and Incubbi's after the Tau.

By the end of round 2, DE Warriors had broken from my dakka, the wytches were slaughtering shoota boyz, the sluggas were trudging forward under ineffective fire and the Tau had reduced the DE HQ by 50%

By the end of round 3, the wytches were down to 2 and running away and my shootas were slaughtering DE warriors in HTH while the slugga boyz decended on the Tau firing line with a truely silly amount of attacks. The DE retinue was down to just the Archon who nailed the crisis suit and stealth team. Tau were in retreat.

By the end of round 4, the broadside had been taken down by the sluggas, the last of the DE warriors were wipped off the board by the shootas and both squads proceaded to hunt for the Tau HQ.

I started with 50 or so models, ended up with 2 rokkit boyz, 2 pk nobs and a war boss.

Go orks!

I'm starting to notice that when my friend builds armies, he tries for a static firing line and pumps a large amount of points into the HQ to make it "super cool" I'm hoping to smack him down with large mobs enough so that he see's the error of his ways.

nice game, bad shooting on the part of the tau player, and lack of tactics on the DE player part. Good job for the Orks to capitalize on their strenghts and their enemies weaknesses

even tho farsight loves orks, would you rather sent your 10 fire warriors into assault with a mob of 20+ ork with 3 attacks each atleast or stay at safe distance and shoot them?
The choice is easy shoot, tau will win almost every shoot off, especially against orks

Actually dmkjesus has a habit of doing the combat thing. be it Terminators or Orks he'll do it, and normally come out on top somehow
